NoMoreVick
If we don't beat the Cards at home, we can THEN hit the panic button. We have a lot of work to do though.

st4ngeI2
How did the cards look in their game? Is their D any good?uhhh...they went down to the wire against Sam Bradford in his first start - a sore running back and no wide receivers...the Cards are garbage. If our defense plays the way they did on Sunday - they should destroy that offensive line. The offense should be able to to run over that weak defense.
falcon057
Cardinals · Trends -I thought they'd be higher, but the quarterback mess really hurts them. The Cardinals coaches think this is their most talented team. It's too bad it might all go to waste because of quarterback play.
falcon057
Arizona Cardinals' Tim Hightower to focus on securing ball10 comments by Bob McManaman - Sept. 13, 2010 04:37 PMThe Arizona RepublicWhen head coach Ken Whisenhunt approached him on the flight home from St. Louis on Sunday night, running back Tim Hightower knew exactly what was coming."Yeah, we talked," Whisenhunt said, "and it was the obvious: You can't put the ball on the ground if you want to play."Hightower, who started to gain a reputation for fumbling in his first two years in the NFL, lost two more during Sunday's 17-13 win over the Rams.Whisenhunt went out of his way to talk about all the good things Hightower has provided to the Cardinals. He also pointed out that the last turnover probably shouldn't have counted as one."I don't think it was a fumble but listen, you can't put it in a situation where the officials are forced to make that kind of call," Whisenhunt said. "But that scenario, we're obviously concerned about it and I know Tim was down about it."So Whisenhunt reminded Hightower about a conversation they had when as a rookie, Hightower lost a fumble in a preseason game. He told him then that the mark of a professional is how a player responds to adversity and challenge."And I told him again, 'Look, you're going to be faced with this,'" Whisenhunt said. "We won the game, so it makes it a little bit easier to live with, but that's going to be an object."I told him, 'People are going to come after you now and try to strip the ball. You're going to have to work on it and be a pro on how you handle this. It's going to define ultimately where you go from here.'"Because of who Tim is, though, I have no concerns."Injury updateReceiver Early Doucet (groin) and safety Hamzah Abdulla (hamstring) were the only injuries of note from Sunday's game and Whisenhunt said he would have a better assessment of their availability by Wednesday. He also said running back Beanie Wells, who didn't play because of a bruised right knee, should return to practice this week and that quarterback Derek Anderson, who suffered a chest injury, looks to be fine."He's a tough guy. I have a lot of respect for what Derek did (Sunday)," Whisenhunt said. "He was sore but based on what I've seen . . . I don't think that's going to affect him."Something for JoeyThe Cardinals picked up just two sacks on Rams rookie quarterback Sam Bradford and outside linebacker Joey Porter was shut out, finishing with just two tackles and two quarterback hurries."I was close," he said, "but close only counts in horseshoes. . . . I thought we'd come out with more than two sacks as a defense, but when you win and win like we did, it's all good on Monday when you look up on the (TV) screen and see all the teams that lost."Extra pointsWhisenhunt said rookie receiver Max Komar is officially "on the hot seat" after fumbling three times (losing one) on Sunday."But we also have to remember he's a rookie playing in his first regular-season game," Whisenhunt added. "I'm not ready to write him off yet, but obviously we're going to continue to look at that."• The Cardinals improved to 14-5 against NFC West opponents under Whisenhunt and now have won 12 of their past 14 against division foes.• Safety Adrian Wilson became the first Cardinals player to record two interceptions, a sack and a blocked field goal in the same game. The last player in the NFL to get a sack, block a field goal and intercept at least one pass was Julius Peppers, then of Carolina, against Tampa Bay in 2004. Peyton
The Cardinals defense looked pretty good, but the offense was not good at all.Derek Anderson targeted Fitzgerald 15 times, but he only caught three passes. Those guys aren't on the same page at all.Let' hope that trend is extended this week.

Cardinal2010
Underestimate our defense if you want and our offense is not on point because Fitz was hurt in the pre season and got no reps with Anderson.
Cardinal2010
Well, they barely eeked out a win in St Louis against a rookie qbUm because of 3 turnovers in the red zone. Did y'all win against a 3rd string QB?
FalconMama
Underestimate our defense if you want and our offense is not on point because Fitz was hurt in the pre season and got no reps with Anderson.I think your defense is pretty solid.. I love Darnell Dockett (I met him in DC this summer. The guy is absolutely hilarious and he has a big crush on Oprah lol). Another 3-4 defense, so let's hope that Turner can get going and the offensive line can hold blocks. This is a game that we can and I think we'll win but if they stop Turner and we can't get the passing game going.... Bring out the pitchforks. Dale4Saul2Red0
Their defense is OK but nothing among the elite. We should be able to put up points on the board. They will be getting Beanie Wells back this week so that is another RB for us to key on, as Hightower is much better used as a pass catching RB instead of an every down guy.Anderson has the ability to make big plays especially with a guy like Fitz, so we definitely need to pressure the QB because Anderson can make some very very poor decisions when faced with pressure. All in all Atlanta should win this game something like 27-17. I think a 10 point cushion is just about right. IMO it's a must win with the trip to the Saints looming. Realistically none of us want to go there staring 0-3 in the face. falconidae
Um because of 3 turnovers in the red zone. Did y'all win against a 3rd string QB?No, but we get another chance this weekend. Your team barely beat a STL team that gave up 4 TOs. Right, Falcons are a TD favorite in Vegas for a reason.

The offense should be able to to run over that weak defense.I wouldn't say they are garbage, but I will say they lack the intensity to match our guys. Our D should put the clamps on them rather well. Their OL is going to have it's problems with Abe & Beerman. Our offense may still look mediocre, but will probably put up 24 points on them. Just my opinion, but I think we see a good thrashing of the Cards.
Finally
Its still the....rams....For all we know they will be a playoff team this year. Probably not but you can't just assume they will be a drain circler again this year.
