Let's all just move the goalposts to fit our current argument. Had Marty drove to a game winner it would have been evidence that he was maturing into greatness, but when he threw the pick it's because he's only in his third year. What happened to the Peyton/Brady comparisons? Those have slowed down quite a bit.

Actually you still could if you wanted too...... because manning was given FITS by the 3-4 early in his career..... **** even more recently when he was a well seasoned vet , the chargers were a thorn in his side. in 07 he had a game against the chargers where he threw SIX int's.. he has years where he has only thrown 9 or 10 all season.

a good 3-4 team is going to cause even good/great qbs fits.

**** even superman Brees struggled against 3-4 teams last year. against miami he had 3 picks, was sacked 5 times and had a qb rating of 59

Dallas also gave him major fits as did the jets.

Troy P just made a great play......that's what great players do they made a great play, he has done it against pretty much EVERY great qb in the nfl right now,Rivers,Brady, Farve, Manning, you name them and Troy P. has picked them.

Oh my God!! Matt Ryan is not mediocre...ok. ****. In fact he's as good as the greatest QBs ever in their first two/three years except for when he doesn't put up the great numbers statistically but even then he has great excuses why. If he keeps at this pace, he'll bring atlanta many rings and they'll save him a place in Canton. How's that? Holy crap!! No more Matt Ryan-Leaf threads trying to convince everyone that their eyes are lying to them...please.

saints fans expect matt ryan to put up drew bree's numbers in his 3rd year or he's mediocre, so it goes for every qb in the league, not reaching.

im pretty sure falcon fans are the ones posting how GREAT matt ryan is.

His performance on the other hand leaves alot ot be desired!

But, but...they were playing the steelers who had a really good defense two years ago.

And last year for a matter of fact. They were rated the number 5 defense without Troy P and Aaron Smith(2 big parts of that defense). With both of them back in the line up that is a great defense.

Yeah but, Rivers has hovered in the mid 90s, i think in terms of qb rating the last couple of years. In '08, he led the league with the highest qb rating. He has earned the right to have a horrible game where his abilities aren't questioned afterward.

Ryan hasn't earned that yet. Last season I felt was his first real amount of learning experience. He couldn't rely on Turner to carry him the entire season. He had to fend for himself, it'll either make him stronger this season or worse. I guess we'll find out soon.

You can say what you want but this was a game that the falcons were to win in Pitt in September no snow etc, and vs a 3rd string qb.

You can say your defense played a good game, but they stacked the box to force Dixon to beat yall with his arm, which he did finished with over 200 yards passing and completing 60% of his passes.

Your offense like I said struggled in preseason and it carried over into the season, you can make whatever excuse oh want about defense this defense that, the falcons are being out on a pedestal as superbowl contendors play like it.

Yeah because Dennis beat us by scoring no touchdowns. The defense and that one run at the end of the game beat us.

Don't forget the pick and lack of running game.

I find it funny that you're even here criticizing anybody. It is not like Dallas lit it up Sunday, and you were playing against Washington. Anyway back to the statement, what part of their defense over the past two years do you not understand?

So Dennis Dixon wasn't suppose to complete any passes. You know Dennis Dixon is a professional too.

You do know that the steelers did have a player play safety last year that wasn't Troy?

You yeh they weren't number one last yr because they didn't have Troy blah blah. I couldn't have used that excuse also.

The point is this was the break your team needed. I ain't going to lie last yr when we played the Eagles without their 1st string qb inwas upset and happy at the same time. The saints came in and handled business.

Agree. You have to take care business. But the game doesn't always fall into place like you want it. The taints lost a horrible game with the bucs last year. But hay it happens. But no excuses right.
