falconsd56
Let's all just move the goalposts to fit our current argument. Had Marty drove to a game winner it would have been evidence that he was maturing into greatness, but when he threw the pick it's because he's only in his third year. What happened to the Peyton/Brady comparisons? Those have slowed down quite a bit.Actually you still could if you wanted too...... because manning was given FITS by the 3-4 early in his career..... **** even more recently when he was a well seasoned vet , the chargers were a thorn in his side. in 07 he had a game against the chargers where he threw SIX int's.. he has years where he has only thrown 9 or 10 all season.a good 3-4 team is going to cause even good/great qbs fits.**** even superman Brees struggled against 3-4 teams last year. against miami he had 3 picks, was sacked 5 times and had a qb rating of 59Dallas also gave him major fits as did the jets.Troy P just made a great play......that's what great players do they made a great play, he has done it against pretty much EVERY great qb in the nfl right now,Rivers,Brady, Farve, Manning, you name them and Troy P. has picked them. mvcrook
Oh my God!! Matt Ryan is not mediocre...ok. ****. In fact he's as good as the greatest QBs ever in their first two/three years except for when he doesn't put up the great numbers statistically but even then he has great excuses why. If he keeps at this pace, he'll bring atlanta many rings and they'll save him a place in Canton. How's that? Holy crap!! No more Matt Ryan-Leaf threads trying to convince everyone that their eyes are lying to them...please.

Laugher
300 yards 2 tds in arrow head pretty good to me. You can't blame him for the field conditions, special teams, and the matthew's fumble. What were ryan's stats vs a 3rd string qb?

SaintsH8
But, but...they were playing the steelers who had a really good defense two years ago.And last year for a matter of fact. They were rated the number 5 defense without Troy P and Aaron Smith(2 big parts of that defense). With both of them back in the line up that is a great defense. Big Bubba
Yeah but, Rivers has hovered in the mid 90s, i think in terms of qb rating the last couple of years. In '08, he led the league with the highest qb rating. He has earned the right to have a horrible game where his abilities aren't questioned afterward. Ryan hasn't earned that yet. Last season I felt was his first real amount of learning experience. He couldn't rely on Turner to carry him the entire season. He had to fend for himself, it'll either make him stronger this season or worse. I guess we'll find out soon.

Your offense like I said struggled in preseason and it carried over into the season, you can make whatever excuse oh want about defense this defense that, the falcons are being out on a pedestal as superbowl contendors play like it. SaintsH8
Don't forget the pick and lack of running game.I find it funny that you're even here criticizing anybody. It is not like Dallas lit it up Sunday, and you were playing against Washington. Anyway back to the statement, what part of their defense over the past two years do you not understand? I couldn't have used that excuse also. The point is this was the break your team needed. I ain't going to lie last yr when we played the Eagles without their 1st string qb inwas upset and happy at the same time. The saints came in and handled business.
