Wokezone
to everyone hating on Ryan, Did you not see the O-line collapse like a flan in a cubbard on 95% of the plays, of course he went to short passes, you cant drop back and throw if everytime you do its a sack or your chased out as soon as you take the snap. Fail to everyone saying Ryan is regressing or not doing his job, he got sacked multiple times, and when given the reigns into no huddle situations he shined for the most part. give the Iceman some protection and youll get results. i dont care if its Brees, Manning, Favre, Brady, Shaub, or whoever else you want to put in the blank, if you dont have protection you cant drop back. pull the Oline into two or 3 a days till they get their head screwed on strait and man up. and for goodness sake get Murlarkey's vanilla plays outta here and give matty someone who open up their playbook and give him the reigns to do what needs to be done. Roddyrod
**** Ryan should get the majority of the blame because he is the QB, he has the ball in his hands almost the entire game. Hes the leader of this team, and his play was sub-par. the Int was his fault, HE HAS TO STOP THROWING INTS. Aaron Rodgers getting sack all the time and he still put up numbers. Falcons need to play a lot better than this
Tandy
His average time from snap to throw was 1.7 seconds.Aaron Rodgers had one of the highest from snap to throw times in the league last year - over 3 seconds in fact. He was getting sacked a lot because he held the ball for over 3 seconds.Ryan's sack time = 1.5 seconds average yesterday. No comparison. Still, the hate is normal after a loss - it'll calm down.In this league - you are a bum one week - a hero the next. This is the first game of the year - I'm not even phased. Ryan really wasn't all that bad, he completed 61.3 percent of his passes, sure he could have gone deep more but we don't really call deep routes either. The INT was on a play we had called multiple times, Polamalu saw it and jumped the route from the middle of the field. To me, Mularkey gets most of the blame because we didn't stretch the defense at all.
Faithful Falcon
I think overall, Ryan played great. You can see the maturity. There were a lot of drops yesterday. I don't care if the ball is in your hand, you should catch it. Ryan just have to out smart defensive backs. Troy is one of the best, but you have to make him bow down to you. He doesn't have enough time, the OC is horrible, Troy P sprinkled fairy dust on himself to disappear and Ryan didn't see him, MM is holding his mother for ransom and will make her swim with the fish is he attempts to throw it deep, on and on and on and on. How about Matt Ryan is just simply not good enough to handle the pressure of being "the guy", his skills are marginal and will only manage each game, not change the game like the elite do. metatron360
the rust will shake off on the offensive side for many teams. our defense looked good -1 play as offenses continue to get in rythym then we can see what we got. home teams 11 and 3 for the yesterday. with vikes losing and we will see if the jets will make it

Tandy
Flacco is a much better QB. Do you really think Ryan would do better against the best defense in the NFL?Ryan was up against the best defense in the NFL. Last year - they dropped to #5 because of injuries - but they are healthy again.Steelers Rankings for last 5 years on defense in NFL:'05 #4 overall'06 #9 overall'07 #1 overall'08 #1 overall'09 #5 overall - injuries - now they got them all back'10 - I suspect they'll be #1 again.Jets Rankings for last 5 years on defense in NFL:'05 #12 overall'06 #20 overall'07 #18 overall'08 #16 overall'09 #1 overallMy money would be on the Steelers.Which team won a Superbowl last? How long ago was that? How many players on that D have changed? Even better - how do you think Flacco would do behind our line against the Steelers in that situation? His record against them? 1-

MSUDawgs267
The biggest problem is when Ryan DOES have time, he makes just flat out bad throws 50% of the time. Perfect example: The INT on Sunday. That's not a throw I want my "proven quarterback" to even attempt. Not only did he go to the well too many times with that exact same route, it is against one of the best safties in the league who is sitting on the route. Not so smart. Could Ryan use some more time? Sure. But so could every QB in the league. I think we just need to face it, "Matty Ice" is just another below average QB that gets pumped up, for a reason I am yet to figure out. He has sub-par numbers and has a LONG way to go before he should even be thought of as a near elite QB. It sucks too, I thought he was going to be awesome this year, but going to training camp a couple of days and seeing him in pre-season (and now 1 regular season game) it is just another crappy Atlanta QB.
