falken
We lost to a championship caliber defense yesterday on the road in overtime. I find no shame in that fact.It is NOT the time to overreact. We didn't get blown-out 41-0. We didn't get embarrassed. We lost to a REALLY good team.I've seen Murlarkey, Ryan and Turner all rained upon with criticism. Sometimes you HAVE to be willing to give the other team credit. There is a reason that good teams win their home games. They have the ADVANTAGE.Seriously, did you really think we were going 16-0? There is a saying in the NFL that says the key to the playoffs is, "Win your home games and try to steal a few on the road."This team took the World Champs to the final round twice last season. We almost gave them their first loss with our backup quarterback. We have a better team this season. We still have many reasons for optimism. We have some things to work on but this team has plenty of upside with maybe the deepest roster in our team history.I still believe in this team. I still think we have a great chance for the playoffs and more. .........and I sure as #### ain't giving up after one game!Color me red. Guest Gritz
I believe that we still have the potential to be a very good team with a very good record.....Having said that though I would be less than honest if I said that I didn't see anything that concerned me. What concerned me most was that much of yesterday looked like much of last year: Struggling against a solid 3-4 defense, either a refusal or inability to take shots down the field, tentative play from our starting quarterback, defense giving up big plays at inopportune times, refusal to be bold on 4th down and short. It looked the same. Wokezone
of course we are going to have a good season, our team is better than last years for sure, I still think we go to the playoffs via winning the nfc or wild card, alot of upsets yesterday. if we take this one game and say thats it, then the colts, the vikings, the cowboys and the bengals might as well shut it on down for season too. lol at sky is falling
Dr. Billings
I still believe. Yes, fans always panic after a lost. But there is no need to losehope so early in the season. Pittsburgh is an excellent team. However, they wereplaying without their starting qb, that's the difficult part to swallow. I am certainwe will win this Sunday against the Cardinals. The Dome will be rockin' and the teamwill be fired up and ready to go.
CHOCTHEFALCONFAN™
Ofcourse I still believe! - I still love out chances! - The way the defense looked got me more pumped for the year! But I have a few concerns on offense! 1.) Matt can't continue to stare down Tony-G and Roddy! - He should know this by now!2.) How far will these Checkdown/Curl routes take us?3.) Is Sam baker who we thought he was?4.) Mike Mularkey <<< Something has to give!
cooperbh
I'm still firmly on board. I'm certainly not going to say Ryan is regressing just because he joined the likes of Manning, Romo, Rivers, Shaub and Palmer on that long list of QBs that Polumalu has victimized during the course of his career. I actually thought that Ryan looked poised and slid around in the pocket pretty well yesterday, despite being pressured most of the day by an elite defense. The happy feet he displayed last season appear to be a thing of the past.I will say that the O-line has to improve in both run-blocking and pass protection if we are to have any chance against good defenses like the one we faced yesterday. If the line and the offense struggle against the Cards at home in week 2, then I'll be officially concerned.
FalconPio
I will never stop believing. But just like in an AA meeting, the first step in recovery is admitting the problem. We must recognize and admit we have problems on offense. Then we look at the problems, solve them for good, and finally, move on down the road. And continue our path to perfection
harveybirdman
The home team won 11 of 14 games yesterday.so there is something to this. I am not disputing that their could be potential problems but I plan NOT to give myself an ulcer and let the games play out.If we are worse than 4-3 at the break then I think we can start looking at the problems as a whole. falconsd56
**** skippy im still here. And I still believe.Again I point out as others have, Dallas who is a very deep and talented offensive team who has EVERYTHING people here ***** and complain that we don't scored 7 points.........and did it against a decent defense but certainly not elite. The saints number one offense last year scored a paltry 14, with questionable play calling ( THREE runs the first half) and big time drops and missed fg's ( sound familiar?)And they played a vikings secondary that was tore up.The team they played the number 2 offense from last year, scored a whopping 9 points. Yes they were a bit short handed * so were we* but again questionable play calling ( giving up on the run and running the same stupid fake screen draw every other play) sound familiar?Carolina who has one of if not The best run game in the nfc when you factor in depth and Oline averaged 3.7 yards a carry against a run of the mill defense. We just saw the amazing ravens with two players everyone here wanted Hooz and Boldin..... they scored 10 whopping points.( btw the falcons offensive output and the ravens offensive output is strikingly similar). There are things that need to be worked on sure but the EXACT same things can be said for all those teams I mentioned.IF anyone wants to jump off the band wagon now I I say in the immoral words of Pedro Cerano from Major League *f you jobu*

falken
well... i agree with almost everything you said... but there is one thing.... the hate mularkey is receiving has been earned, the man is stubborn he keeps tryin to run when they are stackin the box and the running game is not working, he keeps calling the same routes and that cost us a pick, i am a believer but mularkey is really pissin me off bro... but lets bounce back, i believe in this defense, i believe in jenkins but most of all i believe in matt ryan! (i am kind of skeptical about the oline but they can rise up like 2008)Do you really think that the play Murlarkey called had Roddy as the only option? That mistake was clearly on Ryan. Which isn't to bash Ryan.....all NFL players make mistakes. He clearly does need to stop staring at WR's before throwing to them though. redwolfcfc
Oh yea I still believe...I mean you would have to be a miserable, lily-livered, weak-kneed, faint hearted, sissy type of coward to give up(OR EVEN BE WORRIED) after one game.you d.am.n right! Some of you weak-kneed types probably even feel validated for your faint-hearted pessimism(I know you all call it REALISM and I say WHATEVER to that too...)NOT ME...See you strong types in the playoffs, and the rest of you give us a holler if you find your backbones.
