falconidae
Yeah, it was bad- but The Eagles not only lost a intra-conference game, they lost 3 players and gained a QB controversy. And GB won the game, but a 17 point 3rd quarter lead wasn't enough to put the game away.Dallas lost a division game to Wash because of too many dumb mistakes. Dal had TOP and yardage over Wash, but made a critcial TO and committed 12 penalties.SF got clobbered by Seattle-Smith looked like a journeyman QB, not the franchise leader they need. So, the falcons get to re-group and play another game, let's see how they respond. crankdatfalcon
lol, i honestly do not understand why yall keep trying to cover up our loss by pointing out other teams losses. Who cares what other teams lost. WE SHOULD ONLY BE FOCUSED ON WHAT OUR TEAM DOES....We are not the colts, eagles, cowboys, or any other team. Think that's important to know/realize. It was certainly ugly, and there's blame enough to go around; but it's only one loss.

aerosmith67
Good points made in this thread. As to why it matters? The Falcons are going to be competing against the Cowboys, 49ers, Eagles, etc. for a playoff spot. At the same time however, they're going to have to face the Seahawks and Packers deep in the season. Half of the teams lost this weekend, some who could be very good and some won that won't be very good this year. Luckily the NFL doesn't run a BCS type system. 10-6/9-7 records make the playoffs many years.
Dharma Initiative
I disagree. In a division with the Saints you have to seize every opportunity and we failed the first one
muskokas finest ©
Good that some of the teams we see as playoff competitors lost their games, some losing contests they should expect to win. Feel sorry for Detroit. Hope I won't end up miss that Megatron TD in FF that was called back. How do you deny that catch in the next regular game after this Lance Moore decision?
