jm_falcons
Should we be surprised with the lacluster performance of the offense? This starting offense looks identical to last years underperforming group. On paper...we should roll and score at least 1 td on any team.I predicted 14-13 Falcons so I am a little disappointed. I knew the O would struggle but I felt Ryan would be the difference and get this team into the end zone. He is the leader. This is a good team...but they will never be great until the o becomes more aggressive. Coach Smith need to let the offense breathe and learn from its mistakes. It seems there are a lot of fans who keep using that old tired excuse about how our offense was just stopped by a better D or by a hall of fame Coordinator and post countless stats to justify our offenses' or MM's lackluster performance........................they then turn around and want to claim how we will be the top team in the NFC south this year.................fast foward...........compete with any superbowl level team.Bottomline is we have to start being able to line up against anybody every sunday, thurs, and mon and impose our will, especially when we are playing a tough opponent. We played a steelers team that could have been had...instead the jokes on us. If you just want a 2nd place NFC south team then you should be happy with today's performance. If you are one of those fans that expect this team to enter that special group of top teams, then the way this team is playing is atrociuos and unacceptable. Good: Defense with all the changes and new faces shows a lot of promise even though VanGorder kept the playcall vanillaBad: No changes on offense except for the return of Harry. Yet we expect different results. This group right now isn't a superbowl contending O-Line and neither is the playcalling. This offense hasn't been in the endzone in so long, they forgot what it looks like or felt even if it spread its legs and said enter. Yes steelers are a good D but we made them look elite. We've having this problem since last season, yet people keep acting like it isn't that big of a concern. Reminds me of the knapp and mora days with just more talented players.
