kyouthman
Give me reasons why we shouldn't dominate the Steelers Sunday? They are a non-playoff team who is starting their 3rd string QB. Should be an easy win...right?
TMC
How many do you need?-The Steelers have a dominant defense.-In the last 106 games played including the playoffs, they have allowed 5-100 yard rushers.-The Steelers have dominant pass rushers in Woodley and Harrison.-Matt Ryan is facing **** LeBeau for the first time. -Your OL struggles blocking the 3-4 and the Steelers run it better than anyone.-The Falcons defensive line is in disarray.-You have a corner that has not played and are starting a young corner opposite him.-Of your 11 defensive starters, roughly 5 are new to the team or new to starting. You really do not know what you have yet.-Dixon was the #2 last year and the starting job in Roethlisberger's absence had not been decided. It is unfair to call him a #3. -Dixon is dangerous in his own way.
Peyton
I think all of you who are looking for a domination on Sunday are perfectly homerlicious. I can dig it.The truth is that when this defense is healthy, and it is now, it is a dominant defense, the best in the league. And Heinz Field is a very difficult place to play. So, good luck to our Falcons with that.
Guest Gritz
Give me reasons why we shouldn't dominate the Steelers Sunday? They are a non-playoff team who is starting their 3rd string QB. Should be an easy win...right?There are several reasons in my mind why we won't "Dominate Sunday."1.) Road wins have proven to be fairly elusive for this current version of the Atlanta Falcons. It's difficult to win on the road in the NFL period.....especially against decent to very good teams. I'm not exactly sure where the Steelers fall in that category from decent-good, but they are in there somewhere.2.) The Falcons seem to also struggle against 3-4 defenses. The Steelers run a 3-4 defense and are one of the better ones at employing it. D.ick LeBeau is one of the best defensive coordinators in the NFL.3.) Kind of related to #2 is the fact that the Steelers defense is completely healthy for the first time in a long time. There are other reasons but if you're tuning in to see our Falcons dominate the Steelers I think you're going to have a very frustrating 3 hours.(I think we win, but it's going to be close and probably back and forth....). Babineaux is serving his one game suspension but that hardly sends our defensive line into the "disarray" category. His replacement Trey Lewis has been beasting.Your other points are fair. Goal Line D
I've thought about this game quite a lot and the word "dominate" never once entered my mind. I do think we can win but there will be no domination happening on Sunday.
CHOCTHEFALCONFAN™
I expect a good hard fought game come Sunday! - And I don't see why anybody should expect us to just go in there and demolish the Steelers! -Even without Ben! Atlsport
Give me reasons why we shouldn't dominate the Steelers Sunday? They are a non-playoff team who is starting their 3rd string QB. Should be an easy win...right?Reasons - Its the NFL most games are very close. No such thing as easy wins before hand. Nearly every homeristic prediction of domination or blowout is wrong. 3rd string quarterback of an NFL team, not college or HS. He may not play as well as #1 or #2, but that doesn't mean he's going to toss up 6 INT's in a game, probably not more than 1 if that. ...but if you prefer the easy win scenario it will be 48-3. Their defense will present no challenge at all and the 3rd string qb will throw the 6 INT's and get sacked 4 times and end up with - 8 net yards by the end of the game. Amazingly despite playing that bad Tomlin will never bench him because he's 3rd string and if he's going to start him, he might as well take one for the team because that would be the best way for them to start their season. Tandy
Dominate?Would you care to explain why you think we would dominate? What, other than a young QB and a suspect set of cornerbacks, leads you to believe we would dominate? Is it home field advantage? ... nopeIs it because the team we face is a bottom 15 team in defense? ... nopeIs it because the team we face is a bottom 27 team in defense? ... nopeIs it because the team we face is a bottom 15 team in offense? ... nopeIs it because the team we face is a bottom 25 team in offense? ... nopeIs it because they have bad coaching? ... nopeIs it because they have lost any games in their last 7 openers there? ... nopeSo, what, exactly makes you think we'll dominate? We are both good teams, who play hard physical football. This will be an all out battle and will probably come down to the wire.

Optimus*Crimes
Unless Polamalu drops 20 on us by himself, I see absolutely no reason why we shouldn't dominate. Everyone seems to forget the Steelers "Dominate D" getting manhandled by some wonderful teams last year, namely the Chiefs, Raiders and Browns... DD doesn't stand a freakin chance. Not being a homer, but we are no sloaches...

Esp. now they have Polamalu back. **** Lebeau is a Master Mind of creating exotic blitzes from that 3-4. This game is going to be very tough. I am predicting a very low-scoring game, and a very close game decided by 3 points or less.

The Falcon Jedi
This game is actually worrying me a little bit. It's going to be a defensive battle. I hope our defense can rise to the challenge.
kyouthman
I agree. I never said we would or wouldn't dominate, just asked as to why we wouldn't. Here is what I find odd though. If we were the team starting the 3rd string QB, everyone on here and across the nation would say we have no chance. Yet, a non-playoff team in the Steelers is starting a 3rd stringer who has only made 1 career start, and yet, most "experts" are still picking them to beat us. I just find that odd. Very good thoughts.

They aren't going to score. Dennis Dixon is going to give our D plenty of opportunities to score. Matt Ryan will dink and dunk down the field, Turner and Snelling will get yards. They aren't going to completely shut us down. So if the offense put 14 on the board, this game is won. People are worrying about Dixon and Pittsburghs D, and I think it's gonna be a blow-out. By the end of the game, our D will be rested and refreshed and theirs will be worn out. Time of possesion won't even be close...
