Mularkey on Michael Palmer

Q: What are your thoughts on Michael Palmer making the team?

A: Michael Palmer [the undrafted free agent tight end from Clemson and Parkview High] came in and he just wowed us. That's a big thing. ... From day one he gradually got better and better. Then our quarterbacks got confident with him in the passing game.

Thanks for posting. That is awesome to hear. He looked really good in the preseason. He has size and speed similar to Gonz, and he is fortunate to be able to learn from him as well. We may have a steal with Palmer.

I hope so, Gonzo will retire shortly and last thin we need to do is waste a low draft pick on a untrained TE.

Now we will have a development player right behind him who will be solid in this league if he can be 3/4's the factor as TG.

Glad to hear this about Palmer. Question is will he be the next generation tight end for us. If so, he needs to absorb anything and everything from Gonzo who can absolutely show him every trick in the book. He needs to be studying everything the guys does. That includes asking tons of questions until Gonzo has to tell him to get out of his stall while he takes a dump... really!biggrin.gif

HA! It's true. He needs to shadow him as much as possible. He needs to be the Sidbury to Gonzo's Abraham and soak in as much as he can.
