DanRooney
I don't understand why you guys are giving Ryan the short end on the stat-line and inflating Turners. Knowing my defense much more than any of you guys, your stats should be reversed. Is there something I don't know about Ryan that would let you guys believe that he would only throw for a 150-200 yards?

Tandy
I don't understand why you guys are giving Ryan the short end on the stat-line and inflating Turners. Knowing my defense much more than any of you guys, your stats should be reversed. Is there something I don't know about Ryan that would let you guys believe that he would only throw for a 150-200 yards?I do know your defense as well as an outside fan can, follow them quite a bit. I understand what you are saying. I know that your run defense is as stout as you'll find and your corners are the weakest part of the defense, or at least the most suspect. That being said, unless our OC has changed dramatically since last year, which is possible, we will continue to pound the rock, successful or not, UNLESS we get into a deficit in the game. That's not to say Ryan won't throw, but it's the commitment to the run this team has. Run first is not really an adequate statement - Run most is what fits it more accurately.Still, if we are finding success in the air and getting nowhere by the 3rd down - I think he'll be in the 250+ range. We'll see. As for the score - I have no idea, but I know it will be a hard fought battle. Two physical, lunch pail, blue collar teams - gotta love it!I just want to see 60 full minutes with no quit - lots of heart - lots of great, physical football and NO INJURIES!Oh yeah, and a win would be great! Pacific_Falcon
24-20 falcons. I think pitt gets a td on the ground and dixon makes a couple big plays, but smiths bend but dont break defense relegates them to FG's after that. Oh and bryant misses at leadt 1 FG, making all of us torked off and very nervous on pitt's last possession in the 4th. Luckily our D will 'rise up' and get us the ball back. TMC
Running team or not, the Steelers have allowed 5-100 yard rushers in 106 games, including the playoffs. That is 5 in 6 years. And you think that Turner will rip off 100 yards in the season opener with our defense completely healthy in our house?Crazy. Stopping the run in Pittsburgh isn't something they just try and do, it is an institution. People get pissed off when someone cracks 100. In the 90s? Maybe. Matt Ryan slinging it around the field? Possible. Just jumping out and expecting 100 yards? Crazy.
The Don™
I said this a couple weeks ago about both teams' run games. I think both teams will not be able to effectively run the ball. I said the way to win will be through the air, good field goal kicking, who makes the most third down stops, and field position.I don't see a pretty game this Sunday for either team, but I see a close one.13-10 Falcons.
