I am still not completely convinced that Brian Williams is the best fit for our roster: I want to throw out another alternative for discussion. He is a former Falcon who can also return kicks and punts and play special teams. Please give me your thoughts on this individual. He also can give us insider information on a key division rival as he has practiced with them for the last few years. He is also only 28 years old:

Saints released CB Leigh Torrence.

Torrence was the fifth member of a very healthy and talented corner unit in New Orleans. He was on the roster bubble all offseason.

Release a player that is already up to speed and did fine for us and replace him with someone we'd have to get up to speed? And the kicker is that he practiced with the Saints? LOL. Practice guys don't know squat about their team's "secrets."

He just looked really slow to me during the last game of the preseason. I am ok with BW if he is ok. Just not sure is all

Brian Williams was our best corner last year before he got hurt and blew out his ACL. He is gonna need some time to get his legs back but has earned the right for some deference while he gets back into total condition.

I would take Brian Williams(devil that you know) over Leigh Torrence(devil that you don't know) right now. Besides, Williams is an expert on Falcons system as well - Torrence would have to "start over" to learn our system.....that did not work out too well for the Rams CB we traded for last year and cut.
