Tribal Chief
The first highly anticipated patch for Madden 11 arrived today for the PS3 and 360. The patch brings back in the classic pre-play controls that were removed and replaced with the “Strategy Pad”. It also adds in “Madden Moments Live” which will present new moments throughout the year for purchase. Those represent the most significant developments from this patch while one intended to address issues and improve gameplay is being targeted to release by the end of the month. Continue on for the full details on this patch and leave your thoughts in the comments!(Update) Though the 360 patch is out it seems that very little with it is currently working. The Madden Moments Live can’t be downloaded, the Breast Cancer Awareness addition is no where to be found, and there are rumblings that the pre-play controls don’t function properly. ECW
Props for this. anyone got any suggestions on how to stop the run up the middle when using the falcons defense? 4-3 alignment of course. I got that outside stuff covered its up the middle where my ranking is pro LOL. I'm all madden everywhere else but the run defense haha. i got like all 17s and a freaking 5 or 6 in run defense! Tribal Chief
Personally I just take control of Peria and swim which ever way I see the RB go. If you miss you're SOL.
ECW
**** lol good to know I'm not the only one who get gashed up the middle from time to time. sometimes I user moore and hit the open hole if all madden is on super gay mode though I get trucked and give up the 90 yard TD run LOL... which happens most of the time especially against good RBs. I played Ravens in the super bowl of franchise and got down 42-0 by halftime lmao. I managed to get within a touchdown but ran out of time. Madden is such flukery... The only thing I hate is hit sticking a runner and guys like Lofton and Moore just bounce off. I just sit there like WTF man. That's normally how I end up giving up big runs and losing. Dharma Initiative
I definitely noticed the preplay controls aren't working on 360 like they meant to. It's frustrating after finally getting down the newer system.
pr0d1gy
This is why there are anti-monopoly laws in capitalism, but if nobody really enforces them then you get things like Madden.
King ED
This is why there are anti-monopoly laws in capitalism, but if nobody really enforces them then you get things like Madden. You don't understand monopolies if you think Madden/EA is a monopoly. If a sports franchise only wants Nike to make their official team clothing, is it a monopoly? No. Does Microsoft have a monopoly on Gears of War, Sony with Metal Gear Solid, or Nintindo with Legend of Zelda? No. Same concept. If you own the product, you can make it as exclusive as you want. You cannot tell the NFL that it doesn't have the right to decide who gets to use its name and product.

You can talk it out of the definition of a monopoly, but it shows the characteristic traits. Your concept doesn't fit because it only determines which console it is released on, it doesn't forbid all other developers from making RPG's just to protect Zelda. ECW
I got a jabroni that uses the texans and he moves Mario Williams from playing over the LT to playing over the RT. He also lines Cushing up behind Williams and blitz every snap and that stuff WEARS ME OUT. I never have time to throw the ball. How do I protect my QB against this uber nano blitz lol. The Zelda comparison is perfectly valid. It is like saying that because no one else can use the Zelda characters and name, RPGs will not sell as well. After all, a bunch of people will only buy the game if it is Zelda. It isn't a monopoly. It is one company(the NFL) deciding which company gets to use its brand name.
