I MUS WRITE
I hope Grimes can handle the physicality of H.Ward, he always seems to have problems with big/tall receivers. Grimes still has cold sweats thinking about Mushin Muhammad.

BirdWeisErrr_2
I know someone on this board that is going to **** a brick. So let me make sure I understand. The once GM Of The Year and the once Coach Of The Year named Biermann a starter over Buster? On a side note, that is great news.
AtlantaFalconPokerPro
I'm really surprised that Grimes is starting over Owens.
Mr Pickle1
I'm stunned that Nicholas lost his job. He was and is a quality starter, significantly better than Mike Peterson. Are we perhaps seeing some signs of favoritism from Mike Smith to Mike P.? Nicholas is significantly faster, longer, and much better in coverage and blitzing. We dont' get nearly the overall improvement in lbr speed that we would have if Weatherspoon was replacing Peterson. Giving that Nicholas was our best coverage backer, isn't this more of just a wash? WHy take a guy in the 1st to produce a wash at that position? gritzblitz
I thought Nicholas played well last year. Wonder how this will effect his outlook and his long term prospects. Will he play his a$$ off to get back on the field or will he become disgruntled. pr0d1gy
I'm really surprised that Grimes is starting over Owens.Experience and production. It gives Owens time to grow and allows them to work Owens on Dunta's side in case Robinson isn't ready to go. It makes sense.

Duff_Man
Considering the way we platoon players around on the defense, depth charts kind of useless. But good for Kroy and Spoon.

BenB321
+1. Great thread. Kudos to the coach for rewarding players based upon performance, hard work and effort instead of draft status. I think in the long run the Falcon orginization hurt Jamaal's maturation by awarding him starting status based upon his draft status and contract. I don't think there is anyone on this board that would make the argument that Jamaal should have been the starter his first year. Davis clearly was the better player. That is the same year that Abe said Jamaal refused to listen to the vets. I love Spoon as well. The guy got some jets. I would love to see him knock Reggie Bush out when he tries to catch a pass in the flat.
The Don™
I'm betting Nicholas will be in on third downs and obvious passing situations- he'll probably get as many snaps as Spoon and Peterson. That is what should happen. That gives our defense the best chance to give the offense the ball back on third downs. And side note, if that depth chart is correct, then that means Jenkins will be ready on Sunday? Faithful Falcon
I hope Grimes can handle the physicality of H.Ward, he always seems to have problems with big/tall receivers. Grimes still has cold sweats thinking about Mushin Muhammad.Dunta will probably be on Ward. Also, when did Hines get so tall? He's barely 5'11". Grimes also plays big. stoned_jc7
Mike Smith is about rotating players in and out. Owens and Williams will still see a lot of action. So will Nichols. So will our good buddy JA as well. And honestly, that is the smart play. Lets keep guys fresh, lets keep guys healthy. Plus if someone goes down, we have a backup who has been getting quality reps step right in.The Falcons have lacked overall depth for years. We are starting to get it back.
