Falco4
With the news that Dixon will be the starter for the steelers, we're going to need our LBs to spy the QB heavily on Sunday. Dixon is so dangerous on the run. That means Lofton and Spoon will have to be extra vigilant.Maybe this will cater to Spoon's strengths; fast enough to tackle a scrambling QB. Let's hope our defense is prepared. Let's Go Falcons!
BruceReville
Ok - I keep hearing about the run threat of Dixon so I looked it up:Career Regular Season: 2 games - 5 rushes - 24 yards - 1 TD - long 24 yards - without that 24 yard run - 4 rushes -3 yards.2009 PreSeason: 3 games - 14 rushes - 91 yards - 0 TD - 1 fumble - and he got those numbers coming in during the 3rd Quarter against the Lions - Giants - 2nd Quarter against Denver. Not exactually starters (Or quite possibly 2nd/3rd stringers). I think his running abilities may be a bit overrated. Not to say take him lightly but statistically I don't see his rushing being a threat.
falcon057
This could be the perfect game for the 335 D, add Moore to spy on Dixion and hopefully get a couple of hits on him.
Falco4
I agree. I still think that we need to keep an eye on him. He's not going to beat us in the air...which is a surprising statement considering our pass defense last year. He's gonna be scrambling....Pitt's OL is shaky. I just hope that our LBs are aware of his running abilities.

He's only started because the #2 got hurt. ****, they were about to start Charlie Batch, what does that tell you. Go look at his pre-season stats. They're laughable. Dixon can at least scramble and move the pocket.

miKevicK777
well weve had the best running quaterback in the nfl and we know that doesnt neccesarily mean wins. and this was a team that built the offense around vick while dixon is just a fill in. im not neccesarily worried about dixon running all over us, this is the nfl plus we got faster on defense with new starters in kroy, spoon, and dunta. The O.D.B
Lets put it this way, If Chris Redmon was a Steeler he would be a lock for 2nd string behind Ben and Dixon would not see the field. So, If we have trouble winning with Redmon at the Helm why does everyone think a worse QB will do better just because he's a run threat.....I expect a good game from the steelers as a whole but whoever the QB is they aren't getting more than 1 play on the highlight reel. You can ask yo Momma about that.

You can ask yo Momma about that. Are we talking about the same Dixon? The guy who filled in for Big Ben in week 12 of last year? Link Almost beat the Ravens IN baltimore? And you don't think he has the potential to hurt us? One of the worst defenses last year? There are going to be highlights of this guy. Let's not be ignorant. And you're putting way too much stock in Redman. We have trouble winning with Redman because he's Chris Redman. Nonsense. And it's not only that he's a run threat...he's mobile enough to get out of the pocket and throw on the run. That puts more pressure on our CBs who have to cover for longer periods.I don't mind people hollering that we'll beat someone because of our abilities, but underestimating an opponent is just stupid. Dixon is an NFL player too...he's playing for a reason. And it's not like a crappy organization (like the Raiders) who's investing in him...it's the steadfast steelers.I have no doubt we're winning on Sunday, but Dixon will certainly make his fair share of big plays. Dixon vs Baltimore 12/26 - 145 yards - 3 rushes 27 yards - not overly impressive. - 3 Point Loss.Redman Vs New Orleans 23/34 303 yards - 0 rushes - 0 yards - More impressive than Dixon, - 3 point loss. Oh and Falcons defense had zero turnover recoveries or sacks that game. So Redman did not have the advantage of the defense giving him the short field to work with.
