Swinfordawg
According to Chuck Oliver A.J. Green is to be released to play in 48 hours. It seems the agent in Miami wasn't the issue they were investigating. He had already been cleared on that matter a while ago. Apparently the NCAA was investigating his insurance policy and who paid for it. Hope he is right. We need A.J. for this weekend.
slamee101
If true, why are they waiting 48 hours? I'm just saying...Chuck is usually in the know about college football so I hope he's right.
ohiodawg8
Great news!! I'm glad for AJ if this is true, but can't help but wonder why this took so long. Now let's get ready for USC. Go Dawgs!!

Bulldog1950
It' is ridiculous the ncaa would even investigate who payed the insurance deductible. These players risk injury and they deserve to be protected. Of all the things the ncaa can investigate, how a kid gets insurance shouldn't really be any business of the ncaa. Players do dumb things and deserve what they get from the ncaa but getting insurance any way you can when you are a top player is very smart regardless of what the ncaa rule is. The same thing that happened to Decory Bryant could happen to any player. Edited September 7, 2010 by Bulldog1950
BMF
Personally I believe we would beat the **** S$$## without AJ... but I guess we can play him... -_-
CalDawg
The betting line has actually widened a little bit this morning, from -2.5 to -3 points. That's nothing definite, but it can be an indicator of which way the wind is blowing. If information is knowable, it shows up in the money first. SacFalcFan
actually oliver is wrong and has since changed the story. he believes it's with a sale of a jersey which aj has repaid and he will be docked the 1 game he sat out this past weekend. i am not saying he is or isn't correct, but the insurance rumor has been verified to not be true by a few people. BMF
But even in that case why in the #@$%^&! would it take them so long to just give a ruling and be done with it!I honestly believe that the NCAA took their time due to the simple fact that we were playing a cupcake week one. If we were playing against a formidable team we ould have got word 48 hrs before the game.

To me, the jersey should be a bigger issue than the insurance although they both sound extremely minor issues that should be resolved after missing at most a one game sit. SacFalcFan
The details are out on another site regarding the $$ amount: They had heard Green sold a jersey for $1,000 and he gave back the money. UGA expected to hear back from the ncaa before the game this past weekend and had not. It's very similiar to the ncaa investigation and penalties with the sec championship rings. -- This falls inline with what i heard as well from another source that I talked about in on of the posts above. Even AJ needed the valuable snaps in the game.
