BirdWeisErrr_2
The Fans! We, as fans, do have a say in the outcome of games. The Georgia Dome is where we can make a difference. The team feeds off of our energy. Opposing teams, if we are doing our part, cannot hear themselves breathe. The Ga Dome starts rockin' and the team starts poppin'. As we head into the 2010 season I just want to remind everyone that, just like we are counting on the players, they are also counting on us. We've been very good the last couple of years at home and hopefully we'll be even better this year. The team has worked their tails off during the off season, camp, preseason, etc. When they step on the field we expect nothing but their best effort. When we step into the Ga Dome they expect the same from us.Get off your butts. Get to the Dome. Support our team. Make some noise. Lets "Rise Up" and "Defend The Dome". With our help and the teams hard work we can make the Dome a place other teams hate to be. Rise Up!
Peyton
I can appreciate your enthusiasm, but good luck with this. The Georgia Dome has to be the only stadium in the NFL where people actually get mad at you if stay on your feet to cheer.

The old geezer behind me tapped me on the shoulder and pointed to my seat basically saying sit down. I told him he may as well get up and move because this is a football game not a funeral. I guess he got the hint because he never tapped me on the shoulder again.

We HAVE to sit. Every try it. Can 't see the field if the peoples in front of you are standing. Can't even see the jumbotron 1/2 the time. That being the case, we see more of the game by staying home or recording it to rerun when we get home from the game. Some consideration please. Like I say stand and cheer when appropiate (we do) but do not stand up in front of us the the entire game. Peyton
Like I said I jumped up when something exciting happened. I don't recall anyone standing up the entire game.I remember going to the home opener in 1990 against the Oilers in Fulton County Stadium, Jerry Glanville's first game and the first game "Back in Black". I don't think a single person in that stadium sat down until the half time show started. And the team really fed off it, they stomped the Oilers that day. It's a completely different atmosphere now.Watch the crowd that the Falcons have to deal with on Sunday. It won't be anything like what you see in the Georgia Dome.

I don't recall anyone standing up the entire game.Yea, just had to vent somewhere and you opened a door.Never been a season ticket holder, but we use to make about 4/5 games a year, now it's down to 2.Was not a problem in the old outdoor stadium, we could always get front row seats somewhere on some level, but I have not been that lucky at the Ga Dome. BirdWeisErrr_2
Yea, just had to vent somewhere and you opened a door.Buy surely you aren't venting about something that goes on at the Dome or it was an isolated incident. I never see anyone standing the entire game and I go to all of the games. On big 3rd downs when we are on defense maybe, but in general no. Since we now come only about 2 times a year tickets fall where we can get them

The folks running the "light show" seem to have come around to our cries. They are now posting instructions on the jumbotron and ribons not to mention the cheerleaders are holding up signs too!NOISE, NOISE and more NOISE for the "D"!"RISE UP" 12th man! (points @ you in the DOME) This team has given you B2Bs with a threepeat coming. KJinCton
My bank gave me their corporate, club level seats years ago. No one cheered there at all....they were all business. I've had season tix for 11 years now and rarely have I had someone stand too long. Usually it's someone trying to take pictures or an idiot that hasn't realized that everyone else has settled into their seat. Our crowd will not and should not stand all game. If they Falcons are kicking a$$ then we'll respond appropriately. I have seen the Dome rocking many times over these 11 years. The fans will respond when the team gives them a reason to. You do occasionally have someone in your section that will 'rally the troops' so to speak and wants to scream like a madman at every third down. Sometimes this helps and sometimes it doesn't. It all depends on the team. If they're holding them and fighting hard, we respond. If they're getting beaten all over the field, then the mood shifts.I can't compare our fans to others as I've never been to an away game, but I would love to go to a Giants, Jets, Eagles or Packers game and see what that's like.I agree with you, we can make a formidle 12th man, but our team has to get us going first. For better or worse, this post encompasses perfectly the Atlanta Falcons fan. The Atlanta crowd feeds of the team, not the other way around. mrobinson3803
Its a football game I think this is exactly why we need an oper air stadium. Our fans have gotten too comfortable inside the Dome. We do not have to make as much noise because of the fact that it is an enclosed space. Heinz Field is probably 10x louder than us and they are outside. We need to stop acting like we are going to see a movie or play and act like we came to see some football. Get on your feet, yell & scream, help our young defense out. Be the 12th man for this team like the Steelers and Eagles fans are for them. A.F.W.O.
I'm a supporter. Bump. GREAT!This part "Most of the fanbase" needs to "Rise UP!" and understand what "Home Field Advantage" means. Too many just want to sit back and wait to see if the Falcons give them something to "cheer" about.I say the fans need to let this team know we're behind them 100% with noise for the "D"!PROTECT THIS HOUSE! Brassmonkey
I think the OP started a great topic for us Falcon Fans. We had season tickets for several years. Through (some) good years and many bad, both at Fulton Co. stadium and the Dome. The main reason we stopped buying the tickets was the apathy of the Falcon fans in general. C'mon man it's a Football game for cryin out loud! I used to bemoan the fact that I wasn't a Chief's fan, or a Browns fan, or Steeler's fan. They know what's what. The Georgia Dome should be a rockin, loud ***, homefield advantage for the birds! A place that other teams hate to come and play. Not some college type bowl game where half the fans are Who Dat's, or heaven forbid the Cowboys come to town. Used to make me sick. Maybe this year will be the year that all changes. I sure hope so. You guys can make a huge difference. Best of luck.
