I would feel more comfortable with shayne graham at this point than with bryant. I love bryant's leg strength, but i don't trust his accuracy outside of 40 yards. I think having Graham play on turf over half the year would make him even better. Kris Brown turned into poop last year, please--nobody even mention him over bryant.

because the let go of Haushka before the pre-season even got well under way, it seems to me that they are satisfied with what we have.

I don't understand why they let him go as soon as they did, and then they didn't bring anyone back in to maintain the presence of some competition at that position.

They brought Derricks back in to what I felt like was a deep position on the team, and then neglected to bring anyone back in to create competition among a position that is considered by many to be a weakness.

Just doesn't make any sense.

Missing the XPA is unacceptable. Blame it on the dirt if you want, but you should make an XPA kicking out of quicksand.

That said, Bryant missed a 53 yd attempt wide right. Haushka missed a 55 which hit the crossbar. Thus, Bryant had the leg strength, but he pushed it. Hauschka's was right down the middle and just didn't get there. I think that was the only FGA that Bryant missed. So, other than the missed XPA, not too shabby.

Hauschka was just cut by DET, BTW.

Hauschka's kick did hit the crossbar at 55, but from my seats I had a perfect view. How that kick wasn't blocked is beyond me. It was a straight line drive.

I firmly believe that there have been so many kicking related threads because we all deeply care about the Falcons, and want to maximize our chances of making every FG /PAT and improve our odds of winning games. In spite of this, I'm still SMH because so many people think they are better judges of football talent/kickers than Mike Smith and TD.

It would appear that the Falcons are satisfied with Matt Bryant at this point.
