Who's our returners this season?

Since Weems has been doing it pretty much the whol pre-season I would say he is it. They gave Franks a shot last night and he looked a bit shaky. Maybe he just needs more reps. I don't know if the Falcons run 11 on 11 full speed returns much since it's the easiest situation to get hurt in.

In preseason....

Weems:

6 total punt return attempts...

5 returns for 13.8 yards/return

1 FC

Franks:

10 total punt return attempts...

3 returns for -4.3 yards/return

7 FC

On kick returns, Franks only had 1 preseason attempt, but it was a solid 30 yards.

Weems has been solid so I think he's the main guy.

Maybe special situations Jerious comes in at KR if we need a big return, like the end of the Chicago game of '08.

HD might be more elusive than Weems, but we can afford to lose Weems more than HD at WR.

I agree Franks needs more reps in practice to get comfortable judging speed of people coming at him. He may come on late.

Thanks, I guess he was so unspectacular that I hardly noticed. I was thinking more kick returns that I saw Weems.

I like little Weemie. He does returns really good. He has really good field vision on kickoff returns. He is going to break one for a TD one day if he can just figure out a way to get around the Kicker.

Yup. I want to keep Norwood healthy. He seems to get killed on kick returns. And HD is still healing IMO.
