sporkdevil
Leftwich has MCL damagePosted by Mike Florio on September 2, 2010 10:25 PM ETAn agency purporting to represent Steelers quarterback Byron Leftwich has posted on Twitter that Leftwich suffered a torn MCL on Thursday night in the preseason finale against the Panthers. The Twitter page assigned to Pro Player Solutions links to a website that makes the entire thing seem legit. But as further proof of the flaws in Mike Wise's logic, we didn't take this one at face value, because it wasn't contained in a report from a tenured member of a respected media company.Based on the PPS tweet, we have learned that Leftwich has damage to his MCL. The degree of the damage isn't known. The MCL is a rope-like ligament that, if not completely severed, often can heal with rest. Until the degree of Leftwich's injury is known, the duration of his absence will be uncertain.Still, with his primary assignment for 2010 covering the next four games (or if Terry Bradshaw gets his wish six), the existence of any MCL damage constitutes bad news for Leftwich.Sounds possible. BRING ON DIXON!!!
gritzblitz
Sounds possible. BRING ON DIXON!!! I was kinda-of looking forward to the sitting duck that was Leftwhich....Dixon we will have to chase around
califalcfan
I was kinda-of looking forward to the sitting duck that was Leftwhich....Dixon we will have to chase aroundSure Leftwich is immobile and Dixon can run, but Dixon has started 1 NFL game. If we are gonna bring the blitz like we did in the preseason, he is going to make some bad mistakes. He might gash us for a couple of big gains, but put Spoon to spy him and he presents no threat. Dixon is mobile, but he makes some terrible decisions. It helps even more that Tomlin was giving 3 different QB's 1st team reps. I'd expect it to be a nice start for our secondary. sporkdevil
I am glad they're not play Charlie Batch. Dixon is mobile but Spoon will run him down. I think they gave up on Batch. He has gotten very limited reps in camp and preseason. Batch is getting old too. I'm just glad Big Ben is out for this game.

sporkdevil
Sad to hear about the injury hope he has a speedy recoveryI do too, but Lefty is made out of toothpicks and bubblegum. He always gets injured. I remember waiting for him to come back from his high ankle sprain so we could get Joey Sunshine off the field. He played terribly, and I think got injured again. He doesn't look like a guy who does a lot of physical conditioning. dmite
Kind of on the same subject, Carolina's front 7 seems to be a beast. Too bad for them that their offense is junk.
falconidae
OK, it's not breaking news he's a terrible QB...
Dharma Initiative
Dixon hasn't looked too good. Just need to focus on the rushing attack and keep Dixon squeezed in the pocket. Let our new secondary worry about his erractic passes.

I'm just glad Big Ben is out for this game.I wish Ben WAS playing. I know a win's a win, but I'm going to hate hearing all the"Well, if Ben had played there's no way the Falcons would have won." nativefalcon
I was kinda-of looking forward to the sitting duck that was Leftwhich....Dixon we will have to chase aroundI agree, its kind of good and bad. Good hes a rookie and its his first game, bad hes got legs and can run around. Also they still have Charlie Batch and hes decent. He gave us a run for our money when Vick was here and we beat Pittsburgh, when we knocked Rothlisburger out of the game.

Oh yeah, we gave him a concussion. One of the best games I attended, because of how obnoxious I was to the Steelers fans around me.

The Falcon Jedi
We are going to eat Dixon alive. This defense is probably the fastest in the NFL. Weatherspoon, Lofton, Decoud... they can all track him down. And as far as defending his passes. Lol. I see a 3 INT game coming. Should be a field day for this Defense.Bring him on.
