XXVIII-III
According to NFL.com, the Cowboys are shopping little Sammy Hurd. With us being thin at WR, do you think he'd be an asset? He's had a pretty decent preseason. Wonder what the boys would want though...

WRs with 510 yards in 4 years don't carry value.

Peyton
Yea, that's what I was thinking but it said they have received, "inquires" about him. Maybe they are just blowing smoke.Well...maybe somebody out there really likes him and doesn't want him to hit the open market. Maybe somebody will give them a 7. He is a very young guy for having 4 years in the league.I am all for the Falcons giving guys a workout at least. Of course no one wants to buy what no one else wants, so you put out info that people have been blowing up your phone to get this guy in camp. 1989Fan
i dont see how we are thin since week one the only WR we will be missing is a rookie. We have a deeper corp than last season since we have the same guys AND Harry Douglass. if they want a guy we are gonna cut anyways fine, but I wouldnt give a pick for him. Durrty
The Falcons won't make a move...MJ12 will be ready by wk2Plus, Bergeron will fill the other slot position with Meier out. We have reliable depth. It amazes me how some of the posters think we can sign this guy or that guy and believe he'll come in and be any more effective than Jenkins. I believe Smitty will handle the WR issue "in house". Jenkins will be back for the season opener, Finneran is more than capable of holding it down until then, and Bergeron, at 6'2 195 lbs., is capable of holding Finneran's spot for a week. I'm actually hoping Bergeron turns it up tonight and solidifies his spot on the roster.
Ray Lewis
The only way we should get another player, is if he is better than the WRs we have on our roster. Id prefer that we get someone around R. White's caliber, lets not nickel and dime it ya know!

If we keep 5 he will be out (White, Jenkins, Douglass, Finneran, Weems). Even if we keep 6 he isnt a lock of Harvey IMO.
MattIceRyanMVP2
Nope. We need a TRUE #2 receiver. Hurd isn't that good as it is.

All the other WRs caught 83 combined. In my opinion, if one receiver is catcing more balls than all the other WRs combined, your group is probably thin.Plus, it's a concern that Jenkins is injured already. Players who suffere that severe an injury in camp, well, you just don't know what they are going to bring when they are ready, or how ready they will even be. Remember we also had a tight end catch 83 balls or something, which most teams dont have. Our #2 is a run blocker and a 3rd option right now, and Jenkins and Douglass fill that great.I think if we brought in a stud WR it would almost be a waste since Ryan seems to look for White then check to Gonzo every time he passes. If we didnt have a KR option I would be more for it. Who is to say Hurd will be much better than Weems? Upgrading our #4/5 WR spot isnt my biggest worry, especially in a murlarky offense. I like Weems, but he's more effective on ST, which is the only reason he'd beat out any other receiver.IMO, I think we'll keep 6 due to Meier going down for the season and (for the time being) Jenkins being hurt. Bergeron has been the only receiver to show signs of anything from the players trying to get a spot. He's been here and knows the system. I like Harvey too. I'd like for him or Wolfe to make the team, but realistically, I don't think it'll happen. Both will have an opportunity tonight though. If we do indeed keep Harvey or Wolfe, it'll be on the PS. Knight of God
I think that Hurd and Weems are similar in many ways. So, I say nah.
