Stepdaddy
Patriots placed CB Leigh Bodden on injured reserve with a torn rotator cuff in his shoulder, ending his season. There was never an indication Bodden's injury could be year-ending thanks to the Pats' secretiveness. He made his preseason debut last Thursday. Signed to a $22 million, four-year deal this spring, Bodden's loss will thrust rookie Devin McCourty into the starting lineup opposite Darius Butler. Also lacking pass rushers, New England's pass defense will be one to target for matchup purposes. Tom Brady may also be forced to throw more to keep up.Looks like we made the right move

Shredman
its just bad karma to even mention LBbottom line is we havent seen what DRob can do, I like his game from film i have seen, but he hasnt been on the field....i was one who said if we are gonna spend 60 million dollars we should have went after Peppers , with Pep Abe Babs and Beirmann,,,,,,,,,, Grimes, Owens, Williams and even Jackson would have been fine with that kinda push up front....Hope he turns into a big time play maker for us, but right now i just wanna see him on the field ....... hawkeye
Whether or not the Falcons made the right move or not isn't going to be determined by what happens to Leigh Bodden.I think he is saying that they were the top 2 FA CB's and we will at least have Robinson playing this year asopposed to Bodden not playing at all. We all know it can't be about performance yet. At least Robinson shouldbe ready week 1.

I mean, it is very possible, even likely in my opinion, that the biggest problem with the Falcons pass defense last year was the lack of a pass rush.I remember one of the longer TDs the Falcons gave up last year, the deep cross to Miles Austin, on a play where the Falcons brought seven guys. Somehow they didn't come close to applying any actual pressure to Romo on the play, and it was an easy TD. It would have been an easy TD pretty much regardless of who the Falcons had in the secondary. The question regarding the wisdom of spending all the free agency money on Dunta Robinson won't be answered that simply. Him simply suiting up and taking some snaps won't validate the decision. Edited September 1, 2010 by Peyton

What if dunta gets hurt, what will you say then??Why make a senseless thread, not knowing what could happen to dunta???

I saw a quote from him where he said he could have played last week but the doctors held him out because his hamstring was still sore.If you tear a hamstring and it is still sore 4 weeks later, that is no tiny hamstring pull. Stepdaddy
Just a tip, you should wait til you've been here more than two days to start sayin "I toold you so!". Just a tip. Minor suggestion.Oh and for the record i didnt "tell" anybody anything. As you can see i just registered to the forum. I'm not pretending i made a prediction in the offseason that bodden would get injured, merely stating the fact that as of today we chose the right cb in the offseason, unless you think someone on IR will contribute more to the 2010 falcons
Optimus*Crimes
thanks for the tip cool message board guyWell, lets think about this... You signed up 8-30-2010 to tell us that we signed the right guy, essentially a "I told you so Thread". You didn't have an opinion on this board in march, when the whole "what cb should we sign?" debate was taking place. Am i missing something? I wasn't trying to bash you, just making a suggestion. Be a donkey, I don't care. This is why noobs shouldn't be able to start a topic before they've reached a certain post count or time frame. If you had been here a long time, you'd know that I am just as capable of being the kool aid mixer as I am of being the skeptic. This year I am just feeling a bit like the skeptic. It's not something I want to be, it's just what I feel when I look at the team.

Stepdaddy
I think I am starting to understand how people become trolls, I posted a thread not trying to shove anything down anyones throat or tell anyone "i told you so" but to merely state that as of today we made the correct decision since what followed was a bunch really cool "veterans" of the board going "hey new guy your an idiot newb lol" i am now fighting the temptation to just go on a message board rampage calling everyone ****tards or something. I don't understand why every noob on here feels the need to hit the "create new topic" button. Trust me, you're not the first and you won't be the last. When I started on here, I gave it a sloid month before starting a topic, not because I didn't have any good ideas, but because I wanted to get to know some people and get to know how the board went.If you can't handle some advice, dueces. We really won't remember you if you decide not to sign in again...
