FRIZZ3L
I don't know If this had been done. I really dont care if this gets downrank. I just want to help people remember the GOOD past. I know we shouldn't dwell on the past. An our future is looking SUPER BOWL bright. There's a lot of mention or comparisons of players and others.(Myself included) This is to share your memories of past players and others to the rest of us.I would to keep it at maybe 1 to 3 names per post. Repeated names are welcome..., because c'mon.I'll start if off with remember Ed Hartwell - man did we invest in him., T.J. Duckett - ill never forget how you just demolish everything in your way, and Grady Jackson - always consistent on getting double teams a rare and overlooked quailty, especially for a DT playing in a 4-3.. dyoshot
Remember The Smiths? Good people , but had no idea of how to run the franchise. Makesme appreciate this Owner alot better.Yes I definitely remember those days. It was very hard to see light at the end of the tunnel. We would draft someone one year then be talking about replacing them the next.Anyway.....Scott Campbell- First falcons QB I ever saw play. I was so young and of course understood nothing about the game, but I'll always remember his name.Terrance Mathis- I'll never forget how this guy could pile up receiving yards in the run and shoot, but I was even more impressed that he could transition from that and still be a great WR.Bob Christian- Always loved the way he played the game, was a stud when he played here. Got ALOT of concussions in his career.

Grimes
I can't believe what happened when Favre got drafted to the Falcons. When the coach told him something about never going to play on the Falcon's field, which Favre ended up throwing around 5 total passes (all incomplete). Then winning Super Bowls with Green Bay, just imagine if he stayed with us our team would be COMPLETELY different.
dyoshot
+1 In those days when you did see the light at the end of the tunnel, it was an oncoming train!LOL. Do you remember the 49ers and Falcons game in 1990 at Fulton Co. stadium? My uncle and I were at this game and Jerry Rice set the NFL record for recieving TD's in a single game, still hasn't been broken. We stayed for that entire crappy game and watched Jerry Rice abuse Charles Dimry. I remember asking my uncle if we could leave, he said, "Shut up boy you never leave your team before the game is over!" So still to this day whenever I go to a game I always stay until the end. People need to understand that the Brett Favre today would not have existed if not for Mike Holmgren and that GB staff. Favre was busy getting drunk in Buckhead, had a head coach who didn't want him, and a young pro Bowl QB in Chris Miller ahead of him at the time. With any other franchise Favre would have been traded too. Now don't get me wrong we had some idiot management, but this one I have a hard time blaming them. I still say Jerry should have done some jail time for the abuse he gave to Dimry. Dimry is quite possibly the worst CB to ever put on a falcons uniform. That is saying alot when we have had Crisp Houston, Jason Webster, Bobby Butler, and newly added Chevis "crisp" Jackson. So you actually witnessed that slaughtering of Dimry live?? Wish I could have been there to see it.
NZFalcon
I remember the 04 season nfc championship game, and on this site there was a email to support the players and wear red so I thought heck I'll do that and I got an email back saying they will pass the message on to the players and let them know (doubt it actually happened) and they were happy to hear from international fans I thought that was cool and it made me happy until we lost
kibitzer
Vick memory - so move along if you can't stomach it....Marching into Lambeau field and winning in the tundra was quite a nice memory. That kinda piggy-backed off of NZ's post I think, but here's a video anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=puUcbahnT-YOne more edit: KB56 makes a nice play in the endzone to save a TD. Of course, many would prefer not to remember that either. Edited August 31, 2010 by kibitzer

To be honest, we didn't have the type of players back then for Favre to be sucessful. JMHO
Wristtwitch
I'll never forget the Run & Shoot offense we had in '95. I actually thought we had a chance when George bombed it to Metcalf for a 7-0 lead in the wild card game. But **** it was cold and that field looked like garbage. No way man..no way.
