Best new football video of the year

Yes, Sean Payton opens the video, but this is not about the Saints. It's about all the great coaches and football players of our time and the inspirational messages they offer to young men of all ages, pee-wee and up.

I thought you guys might like it as much as me....it brings back childhood memoeries of playing football that can never be duplicated. Actually gave me goosebumps watching this.

The video is in the middle of the article. It is long at 8 minutes, but worth it.

Enjoy. (This video will play in this format, it starts after 9 seconds)

It's amazing how the game of football can get in your blood, your mind, and your emotions.

My last game was the spring game of my junior high year. Shortly after that game, I got

ran over while on my motor cycle. Bad compound fracture of the right femur (thigh bone, largest

bone of the body) crushed right patella (knee) among other injures.

I swear to God, for three years afterwards, every mid-August I actually felt the call that it was

time for summer training camp. My body was telling me, and I can't express how badly I

felt cause I missed it soooo much. I couldn't go do what my mind and body craved so badly.

It took three seasons before it stopped.

Ah yes, the Boys of Fall.....great video.

I"m not a Saints fan either, but I have purchased a chance to win a Saints Super Bowl ring, it's gonna be a collectors item, because it'll be the only ring for them , for oh, maybe a hundred years.....grin. I"m only kidding, its all for a worthy cause, to help the folks that were in Katrina, and the oil leak......

keep smilin,

Falcons Win in 2010

Awesome video. Thanks for posting.

Man, i love this time of year. :)

Awesome Video, how many of you remember parts of those speeches from your old coaches..." This is an emotional game!! you have to play with that emotion let it build up in ya then when you're gasping for air, and your legs feel like lead reach down and grab that emotion, let it come out like a primal yell and explode onto that field, leave all ya got, your blood, your sweat, your tears, but take these things with you once you leave that field of battle, take the friendships, the brotherhood, the pride that you have built up over this time and use it to drive you forward into a life well lived, and when you finally have traveled that long road called life and are about to reach that final destination, look back on what you accomplished and remember that it started today!!!!

Nobkoswski what a heartfelt story, I can only imagine how badly you wanted to play. Thank you for sharing it really puts things in perspective.

I'm glad so many of you guys can relate to this like I did.

I've watched the video several times and I actually got misty-eyed remembering those nights as a young man. The hot nights in September and the colder nights into the fall. The crowd, the band, the cheerleaders, the bus rides, the speeches, the camaraderie.

Many of us played until the end of high school, some made it in college (not me) but those are some of the best memories in life.

We all enjoy the smack talk in these forums, but when something like this comes along, it really transforms the smack into something much deeper. If you've ever played the game, you get it. For me that was 33 years ago.

Even though i've never experienced the roar of a crowd or a band or cheerleaders, I can safely say that the bus trips, speeches and teammates are things that will stay with me throughout my entire life, things that i'll always remember.

As cliche as it might sound i've never felt more alive than in a game when someone smashes you to the floor and you pick yourself right back up and return the favour the very next play.

This is close to what I mean. The bus ride to where ever training camp would be that year. Fighting to make the team. In the room with your team/room mates and the jive at night.

Fighting for a fumble and when they get you untangled and the head coach tells an assistant: Those two will make it !! Such a small event in the grand scheme of things, but at that moment it means everything in the world to hear...... and never forgotten.

anyway.....................GO FALCONS !!!
