I need some advice for what to do pre game for the ULM game. I'm driving home to Augusta from Austin that week and heading up for the game, but I've never been to a game in Athens and knoq they've been cutting down on tailgating. Anyone have any suggestions for tailgating areas or a spot to hang out before the game gets started? Looking forward to your suggestions! :D

Cutting down on tailgating?

Ya since we are "destroying" campus so much they are not letting people really tailgate on north campus, which is the best part of campus to hold any kinda event like that... Its ridiculous, more trash the more the prisoners can stay out in the clean air and do their duty...

There has been tone of stories of recruits walking around campus on gameday and talking about how we tailgate here and how north campus was the best place

I went to undergrad and grad school at UGA and still have season tix. While I have a parking pass for one of the best lots near the heart of campus for tailgating, we still have a blast when we bar hop downtown if we don't want to tailgate. As far as college towns go, downtown Athens is $...fantastic place just to stroll and window shop even if you don't want to bar hop (and just a few minutes walk from the stadium). The atmosphere on gameday is as good as it gets; however, if you really want to tailgate, I recommend visiting

Everything you need to know as a new visitor to Athens. http://gameday.uga.edu/index.php?/default/maps/ to cut straight to the interactive parking and tailgating maps. Welcome to Athens: cheers and go Dawgs.

If you go downtown after games than major props to you my friend.. Me? Personally i dont like waiting 30 minutes to get to the bar and wait another 15 to get a drink... house parties after games haha

Unless its a huge win or something or a awesome game, then stay out alil and celebrate

I'm old news bro-finished undergrad 16 years ago. Love going downtown before and after games then and now. If my job was close enough, I would stay in Athens the rest of my life: no place finer.

Well for all my years i always tailgated on north campus but they are cutting down on that hard core... so I still dont even know where to tailgate, But theres a huge quad next to the honor dorms kinda near Stegman and Snelling dining hall thats very popular spot

Are you thinking of Meyer's quad? That's a great place to tailgate but I'm afraid it might be a little too crowded now that we have all these restrictions on North Campus. Sad that we can't really tailgate there this year. That was the spot to go.

But, if you were in a fraternity of some kind, you could always go tailgate there :D

Ya thats exactly what i was thinking of. and your right the only problem is now you would have to get there as early as possible for a spot.. My friend lives in a apt complex right next to the stadium though so im sure we will just tailgate at his place and take the two minute walk to the stadium.

And naw man didnt join a frat, wasnt for me hah
