ATLBrave
What use would Freeman be to replace Chipper? He can't play 3B, and neither can Glaus.
Falconsfan567
Exactly. It was just wishful thinking for people that wanted Freeman up right now. It was never a real possibility.

Falconsfan567
I still don't understand why I continue to read this, neither Glaus nor anyone with the Braves have said this.Well Glaus can barely move at 1st base to catch a pickoff throw if it isn't right to him and you have to have great athleticism to play 3B and Glaus just doesn't have that right now and hasn't all year. Frank Wren just said that the other day in the press conference about Chipper's injury. Said they don't feel like Glaus can play 3B because of his knees. ATLBrave
Proof that it has been said:Safe to say Glaus is not an option over there?“Yes. I don’t think Troy at this point, based on the health of his legs, that that makes a lot of sense to put him over there and put him in that position.”Wren on Glaus playing 3BIt's in that blog, down towards the end. His legs were bothering him then. He also stated that he wanted to be a 3rd baseman in the future, not 1st. He said this during a pregame interview so I can not provide a link.Worse comes to worse I bet ol' Frank and Bobby will give him a try over there. And there's a reason Glaus couldn't find any takers this offseason...no one wanted him as a 3B anymore. The market is going to dictate what position Glaus will play, not whatever he desires, unless he wants to retire.
Goodoleboy58
Sid Bream has better knees than Glaus at this point

Well, unless Infante, Conrad, Hinske, Hicks, and Hernandez all get injured in the same game. When Glaus made those comments, his legs weren't nearly so messed up. Heard Cox say Glaus isn't an option at 3B on the radio pre-game show as well. He's got a balky knee and chronic foot problems. He would be an embarrassment at 3B. I'm sure he'd give it a try if called upon, and it's not in his nature to admit that he couldn't do it, but Wren and Cox will not put him in that situation. Joremarid
I know you guys have seen glaus try and run the bases. His knees are jacked and he can barely play first let alone 3rd.
sdogg
If anything, FF should be called up to give Glaus time to rest his knees.
