rcky_mtn_falcon
Is it just me or does Wagner look like he's turned into Bob Wickman over the last month.Without all of his blown saves we would still lead the division by 5 or 6 games, and now he's blown another save this afternoon. I'm really hoping he injures himself so Cox has no choice but to start using Venters to close.

He was great in the 1st half of the season, but I'm one of those that thinks every closer is a tad overrated. Blown saves & jams are gonna happen but they're asking you to come in fro 1 inning typically and get 3 outs.

He's blown 5 saves that I remember in the last month, and that's not including games he came in tied and promptly gave up the lead.If they're serious about winning the division they better seriously consider doing something in the 9th other than giving Wagner the ball. Dharma Initiative
I think we need to give Venters some of the save opportunities to prepare him for next season
ATLBrave
If Billy thinks he is done, he'll be the first person in Bobby's office to tell him. **** has been frustrating watching him blow these saves lately, but it happens in baseball. I agree that Venters should see some time closing a few games, but it is still Wags job to lose.
CrimsonFalcon
I'm about with the majority of the fans here and think it's time for the "youth movement". We've already got Venters and Minor up at the moment, maybe we should bring Kimble back up and have Freeman catch a ride with him and allow Glaus and Wags to reduce their roles to situational back ups and mentors for the new guys. Thank God, because his arm might fall off. However, it would be prudent to let Venters close in a few games anyway to give Wagner a day off every now and then in those situations. Warrior999
I talk to a several Mets and Phillies fans. They were not surprise by Wagner blowing games now. It is what he did with them whenever the pressure was on him.
Falconsfan567
Good ******* gravy people! His last 2 blown saves were stickly because of bad luck. Not bad performance. He's only had 3 games where he has just gone out there and just stunk up the show. 3 out of how ever many games he has been in this year! NEWSFLASH! Every closer blows saves. A blown save is NOT always the closer's fault. Not everyone is going to be John Smoltz and blow only 5 saves in his worst season. Mariano Rivera is widely regarded as the best closer in the history of baseball and he had a year with 7 blown saves. I wonder if Yankee fans wanted to get rid of him that year? Probably not since those 7 blown saves came in 57 chances.
