Falconcheff
Some of our FAVORITE Falcons moments are from Jenx12. Here's my top 3 Jenkins moments...3. The TD from Mike Vick in the Washington game. Because it was an audible, something that transpired between Vick and Jenx that they both saw, and worked out together and it lead to a TD. If you'll recall, no one else on the offense knew what was going on (except that it was a pass play).2. Matt Ryan's first NFL pass is a TD to Mike Jenkins.1. 11 seconds. He's not THE BEST, but he's certainly not terrible, or a waste, or garbage. He's made good catches in third down situations; he's not just all blocking. Be smarter than this!
Drathdon
Made the same point in one of the 50 "BadJenks" threads around here somewhere.
kibitzer
I agree w/you chef. But you probably won't win any friends around here w/this thread. Jenkins is the new Falcons whippin' boy, haven't you heard?
BlazerHarvard
You're right---Jenkins is not terrible. However, he is mediocre. With that being said, there's not much that we can do about that now. Our organization's actions have shown that they are confident enough in him to be our #2 WR. When we believe we can do better than Michael Jenkins at the #2 spot, we will address it via FA or the draft.Until then...Let's root for our guy and give him our full support. Jenkins is the new Falcons whippin' boy, haven't you heard? Not here to win friends, just influence people!? Dang, I bought the wrong book! Ya know, the thing is, every offseason I rewatch the season on Tivo (well, the wins anyway, because I don't waste precious Tivo space on losses), and Jenx alsways "pops up". A little here, a little there; he always contributes to the wins.
Falconcheff
you have to go back to vick to come up with 3 great plays? No, three FAVORITE plays. Did you read the description of the play? Vick or not, any receiver that sees a weakness and understands whaen his QB sees it also and they connect for a TD on a spontaneous audible has football skills. kibitzer
you have to go back to vick to come up with 3 great plays?Nah, throw the Raiders game in there, and you have 3. But add the game he mentioned and you got 4. I'm sure there's more. It's just that folks like you only want to remember the worst. I remember it too, but no reason to bash the guy for it. Dude, I'm telling you, this staff is not going to do your receiver list, w/the 3 new rookies this year. You might as well accept he's going to be around, and root for him to succeed. A-TowN.-
He did have a good 08 year but other than that he was decent. Should of had a great year last year with Roddy and Gonzo constantly getting pressure.

I forgot about him embarrassing DHall thouroughly in that game, so much so that Hall was axed the next day!
Drathdon
I still remember people dogging Roddy over his drop in the Denver game. Any WR who has an important drop becomes message board bait... nothing new here.
JOKER2
He may be mediocre or servicable what ever you wish to call it, and he has had some good plays, however I still don't see how we justify that we traded back up into the first round to get him and he is viwed as a great blockerthat is hard to replace. HE is a WR, not a FB.

HE is a WR, not a FB. His primary job is to catch passes and he has dropped many when we needed him to. We can get any WR if we need a blocker IMO. Dem Birds
Don't forget the amazing catch against Pittsburgh in '06, falling in the corner of the endzone, being interfered with and making the one handed catch. A thing of beauty. Still to this day probably the best catch I've seen a Falcon make.
