Pulling out a trade would put us in the front row, so we wouldn't risk another team signing him before us if he is released. We would have to cut a DE, if we got Schobel - so shipping JA98 wouldn't seem like a bad idea (he would get a new start and he fits better in a 3-4.) The only negative in a trade instead of signing him on a new contract - would be his enormous salary for the next few years, but I guess TD could work things out as far as a new contract.
