Deion Sanders coming to training camp Tuesday

Recommended Posts

RT @FalconsPR: Former Falcons CB Deion Sanders will visit camp Tuesday. Sanders is bringing his all-star youth football team to the "A"

I thought Deion hated the Falcons?

No most falcon fans hate him cause he snubbed us over playing baseball than went to the cowgirls.

I like prime as well. He is one of my favorite if not the favorite, falcons player of all time. But I do get why people think that he hates the Falcons. All I have to do is tune in to the NFL Network and hear him talk about the Falcons. He usually has nothing good to say about them regardless of the situation

I dont see it like that.... In the beggining of 2008 he was rough on us but no one thought we was going to be good outside the falcon fan's and Baldy.... Last year i dont remember prime being rough on us besides our DB's getting beat... I mean that happened..lol..

Just because the guy is not a homer... I dont see him as a hater... I think some want him to be a homer just because we drafted him... Everybody see him as a cowboy and prime is one of the roughest critics tony romo has.

Dude is still one of my top three Falcons. No matter who dislikes him.

I don't get caught up in the off field shenanigans like many here.

Yeah, I agree with you that most see him as a Cowboy, but to me he is a Falcon. He was here first. I can also agree that he he might not be a total hater, but he does a good job sometimes.

+1 FFS1970, I don't either. I think he is hard on the Falcons alot, but does change what he did when he was here in Atlanta. I know you agree that he definitely belongs in the Ring of Honor.

I was more mad at the Smiths than I was at Deion. He's said on several occasions that he wanted to remain a Falcon. Don't get me wrong, it killed me to see him in a Niner's and a Cowboy's jersey, but I got over it. If the Smiths wanted to keep him they could have. Those were tough years, why would anyone want to stay here under that management anyway? I've come to terms with it.

Not to nitpick, but he 'snubbed' us for the 49ers, and whether we like it or not as fans, there are two things to consider:

1. It was the right move for him, he got his first ring.

2. Everything I've ever heard was that the Smiths' refused to pay him his value.

I agree with 1 and 2, but I think the Smith's snubbed Deion. IMO, they could have resigned him if they really wanted to, but they didn't so he went to the 49'ers. I don't know all the details, but you don't let a player of Deion's caliber get away for nothing. JMHO

Not only do I like Deion, but as a fan base we need to start to embrace him. He is going to be our best bet to have a Hall of Fame inductee for a while (this group is a ways off). He is up next year an I pray he decides to go in as a Falcon.

I hear ya, and I would love that, too. But I just don't see it happening. MAYBE if we win it all this year, there's a remote possibility. But otherwise, I would think the Cowgirls have the advantage in this one.

I believe that if we started showing him the love that Cow fans do then we have just as much a shot. Plus Deion could have the distinction of being the first Falcon in the Hall vs being one of many Cows in there. Why have we not put him in the Ring of Honor yet? If we did that this year that would strengthen our case.

I would be intersted to know if the front office has considered him for the ROH. If so, I agree that getting it done this year as a precursor to his HOF induction would be a great way to get him to consider going in as a Falcon.

However, I still want Nobis to be the first Falcon to go into the HOF, and would like to see him finally get his due. Our efforts are probably better served trying to get attention to that injustice. At the least, our eventual first HOF'er should point out how Nobis has been overlooked... and I just don't see Deion sharing the spotlight.
