Lt.Fro
http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcsouth/post/_/id/11317/falcons-say-no-to-t-oATLANTA -- It could be moot, given the recent ESPN reports about the pursuit of Terrell Owens, but the Atlanta Falcons are the latest franchise to disavow any interest in the free agent wide receiver.OwensOwensChris Mortensen of ESPN reported Saturday that the St. Louis Rams are interested in signing Owens and could make a contract offer by Monday. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that the Cincinnati Bengals are engaged in discussions about the peripatetic receiver, but have yet to make a formal contract proposal.“I don’t think (we’ll show an interest in Owens),” Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said during a radio interview Sunday. “We like the guys we have. No, I don’t see us doing that.”Roddy White and Michael Jenkins are projected as the Atlanta starters. Both players are former first-round choices, Jenkins in 2004 and White in ’05. The Falcons have invested heavily in recent years in the two players.A 14-year veteran, Owens, 36, recorded 55 catches, 829 yards, and five touchdowns for the Buffalo Bills in 2009. His career includes stints with four teams. At least eight franchises had previously stated their lack of interest in Owens.Said Dimitroff: “Nothing against (Owens) and what he has accomplished. But we like what we’ve got . . . and we’re going a different way.”

bigdogg2277
I like what we have at the wr position already and I think this season will prove what kind of talent and depth we really have. There is no need to add over the hill players when you can go the cheaper route with youth and let them develop.
Farmer2
I'm not sure I'd pair a rookie QB and the face of your franchise w/ TO. Seems to me, that's just asking for trouble.
Knight of God
Rams may actually be okay with this guy and Bradford. You never know. We were counted out Ryan's first year.
TeamPlayer1
TD feels you can always sign a 36 year old receiver, I guess. After all, they could just wait a couple of years and give Brian Finneran a new contract when he's 36. At least they know he's a team guy! Edited July 26, 2010 by TeamPlayer1
