FalconPio
Of course no one knows the true answer, but it wouldn't hurt to guess.I was watching tape on peterson and the guy was pretty special last year. Only downside I saw was him not really being sideline to sideline on run plays. Some say "Peterson was good the first 6 or 7 games then slowed down"Thats why I chose the later part of october for the question. 215FalconsFanatic
I think peterson will hold weatherspoon off in the base package. We will start the season with Peterson and Weatherspoon starting together. With i bet, Nicholas coming in alot specially on certain situations. We can get funky and run a 4-4 set on some of these heavy running teams. Or go 3-4 and run some zone blitzes since nicholas can do some DE work. People coming from everywhere. ltstorm2
Our message board seems to be split.Lets hear some reasons guys!!Same reason as yours. Peterson did seem to lose a step in the second half of the season and I figure/hope Weatherspoon will be more comfortable in his responsibilities further along in the year. JKH5785
There really isn't the option I wanted, because I think around October that he will still be subbing for SN and MP. I would say if he becomes a 4 down starter, it might not be till around the half-way point of the season, sometime around the bye.
mcsupersport
If Spoon plays up to his potential, I foresee him taking Peterson's spot. Peterson lost a step in the later parts of last year, really suffering in coverage, one of the areas Spoon excels in. So I see Spoon, subbing early getting experience and time on the field early, then later as Peterson starts fading we slowly move Spoon more into the starting role. It may not be OFFICIAL Starter, because you don't want to step too much on Peterson's toes, but Spoon, I hope, will be playing a majority of the snaps by late in the season. King ED
The only person Spoon is replacing any time in the future is Peterson. Nicholas is not going anywhere.
chris30277
I'm pretty sure we are going to ease Weatherspoon in slowly to start off this year. I can see NicholasLoftonPeterson In the base packageand Lofton/PetersonWeatherspoon In the nickle package.Weatherspoons strength is his sideline to sideline speed. It would make sense to have him on the field in passing situation to cover TE's and RB's out of the backfield.
