SWIFT HITTER
Is the bloom starting to come off the rose with TD ?08' draft TD was gold.He built the foundation for the franchise for years to come..cornerstones..Ryan,Lofton & BakerHe added also key important features in that draft like slot wr in Douglas/starting DE in Bierman and a solid s in Decoud09' draft has been filled with injures and disappointments ..Jerry&Moore saw limited time and what appears to be injury prone playersTrading a 2nd for Tony G ( seemed like the right decision) Tony G first ballet hall of famer but it seemed like he kind of stunted the development last year of our QB..Ryan looked to Tony G on numerous occasions instead of going through his reads..Tony G is also not the same TE that attacks the middle of the field 2 catches of 20+ yards...hmmThis year big signing of Dunta Robinson ..(yes we needed a true 1 corner) think this was a bold move and I think right move but very risky Weatherspoon OLB over a potential stud wr like Dez Bryant? a wr that will have more impact plays ..that move is very questionableand i like WeatherspoonANOTHER THING WHAT HAS TD DONE to FIX THE PASS RUSHING PROBLEM ?draft a inside dt ?? is that the answer ..How can he trust Abraham to bounce back or Bierman/Davis to step upJammal Anderson on roster? how does a GM keep this waste at any position I still believe in TD but he is now on my watch list .. kschreck
I won't say that he does no wrong but for the most part I like what he's doing. My one complaint, like yours, is DE. I was surprised we didn't do something to upgrade at the position. On the other hand, if the only position that I can really complain about is DE, I'd say he's doing pretty well. kiwifalcon
I judge the FO not just TD but our ownership in Mr Blank all the same I feel since TD has taken over the Falcons we have moved definitely in the right direction.I believe on every level that the Falcons are a better organisation with TD steering the ship and with this in mind its a filter down effect onto the team.So yes in my view he can do very little wrong because I think he has a vested interest in the success of the Falcons. No one is perfect mind you and I'm sure you'd be naive to think that every decision he makes will be correct but I as a fan are extremely satisfied with TD's efforts so far and going foward. falken
we got a whole squad of emthats 2 halvesThis ho-hum squad just accomplished what 42 Falcons teams were unable to do before them. It's a shame that some so-called Falcons' fans can't enjoy what very well could be the best Falcons team to ever take the field. The 98 team was great. This team could be SUPER. The difference? Depth.

Optimus*Crimes
TD is doing great. Smith is doing great. Mr. Blank is doing great. With all three, this has the makings to become one of the perennial contenders in the NFL. We always seem to be in the mix, but I think with these guys, we take the next step. illest_will
I think people's standards were too high from 08...it's not going to be every draft that a good percentage of the talent we draft is going to come in and make a big impact. sad but true. 09 hasn't been a disappointment yet, we're hearing good thing about Sidbury, hopefully Moore and Jerry will be healthy, and Owens showed promise last year. that's 4 possible future starters/quality depth picks right there. as far as DE, it's not too far-fetched to believe we'll be trusting Biermann and Sidbury to man those 2 spots for the next decade. people forget we are only 2 years from wiping our roster from most of the players that had earned us a 4-12 record, to IMPROVE upon that each year afterward is success in itself. every GM does wrong, but I'm sure the general consensus is still 'in TD we trust' and most would probably believe he's going to build us a championship team soon. Goal Line D
what?we are full of depth, deep with average guys, had 1 probowler, less than skins cats, and other ssucky teamsSMH. Pro Bowl is a sham and a popularity contest....who f'in CARES! Our team has been built through the draft with an emphasis on letting youth bloom with some key free agents sprinkled in. Due to this youth these "average" players you're so quick to point out have MORE to proove and are hungry to shine. I'll take that everyday of the week over a fat and happy "big name" FA that seek nothing more than one more big contract to set THEM up big. If you're so enamored with big "names" go root for the Redskins then. Edited July 9, 2010 by Goal Line D
Durrty
You gotta leave room for error here...you'd be foolish to think that he won't miss every now and then.I agree, this has been the best FO the Falcons have had in the history of the franchise! It's not the reaches Dimitroff takes on draft picks or FA signings that I focus on...it's the model (or approach) that he uses when it comes to building this team. It's the perfect model for success. He builds through the draft based on need not BPA, he's willing to play the risk-reward game, but in all those cases, if those players pan out, they become huge contributors, which is what I'm hoping for Jerry and Moore. The future of this franchise is bright because he was a successful scout for a winning franchise. Last but not least, he doesn't overpay players. He pays you what you're worth. I bolded that because some of you believe we overpaid for Robinson. Look, Dimitroff's expertise is scouting CBs...if he knew D-Rob lost a step or two after his injury, I don't think we'd sign him let alone offer that much money. He was the best CB on the market and we needed a boost in our secondary. Well worth it.
illest_will
what?we are full of depth, deep with average guys, had 1 probowler, less than skins cats, and other ssucky teamsRyan probably has 2 more years before he's a perennial pro-bowler, Babs should've been a pro-bowler, Michael Turner is probably the best back in the NFC when healthy, DeCoud was most likely two drops away from a pro-bowl, and all Lofton has to do is pick up 2 INTs next year with another big year tackling and he's pro-bowl worthy. Then we have Abraham who is only one year out of putting in 16 sacks. just because you don't hear about Atlanta players in ESPN doesn't mean we don't have play-makers. if anything, our problem has been the lack of depth and the trenches. we worked on the depth, we'll see if healthy will help the trenches.
