Everyone loves lists, and this week Sporting News magazine weighed in with their top 25 athletes under age 25 across all sports.

But as part of the package, they also did an NFL under-25 all-pro team, and there's a familiar name on the roster - Jerod Mayo.

The Pats' 2008 first-round draft pick, Mayo was chosen as the inside linebacker between Green Bay's Clay Matthews and Washington's Brian Orakpo.

The full team:

OFFENSE

RB Chris Johnson, Titans

RB Ray Rice, Ravens

WR Calvin Johnson, Lions

WR DeSean Jackson, Eagles

TE Jermichael Finley, Packers

T Ryan Clady, Broncos

G Louis Vasquez, Chargers

G Mike Iupati, 49ers

New York's Revis and Sanchez also made the all-sport top 25, at nine and 16, respectively. Celtics' point guard Rajon Rondo came in at number eight. Penguins star Sidney Crosby got the top spot.

What were the qualifying factors for selection? I know this isn't something official but I'm just trying to make sense of it. Can they not be 25 or do they have to be 24 at the oldest? Otherwise how Sanchez beats out Matt Ryan, and Joe Flacco is a mystery to me.

I like the nod for our resident Duff Man, but what about JA98... the dude gets no love, a little encouragement goes a long way you know!!!*

Orakpo is an absolute BEAST I'm looking forward to seeing him progress over the coming years. Definitely a player to watch, he's the guy the Jets wish Vernon Gholston was.

One exclusion that raised my eyebrow was that of Brian Cushing, I suppose with the whole Steroid and Hormone masking scandal stuff his rep is damaged, but for something that does not appear to be a real accolade it is odd that he has been left off.

Under 25, according to the article, since Matt is tad over 25, he doesn't qualify.
