Saw this on the local news in Gainesville, FL

Mike Peterson is offering FREE football camps for kids in both ATL and Gainesville, FL. To attend, simply register your child on his website, here. I like that Peterson is giving back to the communities that mean something to him. He isn't receiving payment for this, but just being a good guy. Way to go, Mike.

It looks like the ATL camp is already full, but those of you w/ kids around Gainesville still have a chance. He's accepting the first 300 kids.

Great job Peterson. It's funny how a player does the right thing and receive minimum press.

However when a player does the wrong thing its all over the board. Also, why haven't this

thread received any posts? This board is suspect.

BASICALLY, YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT SOCIETY AS A WHOLE. PEOPLE LIKE TO HEAR AND READ BAD STUFF. JUST AS LONG AS IT'S NOT THEM. LOOK ON THE FRONT OF MOST NEWS PAPERS, THE BAD STUFFS ON THE FRONT PAGE IN BOLD LETTERS. IN ANY GIVEN DAY, THERE ARE FAR MORE GOOD THINGS THAT HAPPEN THAN BAD. BUT YOU'LL NEVER HEAR ABOUT THEM ..... GOOD STUFF DON'T SELL NEWSPAPERS.

He held this camp last year in FL and said he was looking forward to bringing it to ATL, good to see he is a man of his word. Great respect for Mikey P

Because we have way too many people on here that all they want to do is bash on others for their opinion while hiding behind a screen name. This type of thread doesn't present that opportunity. just saying, it's the truth.

Yeah, I think it's an annual event for MP. Can't believe its free, yet all participants get autographs, shirts, and lunches!

think about that too... that would be 600 T-shirts/Autos/lunches, and that's just for the kids...not counting parents and other participants.

PETERSON'S A SPECIAL GUY. MY HATS OFF TO HIM. AS YOU HAVE POINTED OUT, IT WAS

AN EXPENSIVE AFFAIR. (for him)

oh most definitely. I mean, he probably wouldn't sign 600 autos the whole year if you take the camps out. Figure close to $7.00 a shirt, and catered lunches. This really speaks volumes about his character.

With it being all free, he can accommodate more kids who may would not be able to afford a football camp or rather kids who aren't as fortunate as others.

An event like this will give memories that will stick with the children for years to come.
