Falcons 'til Death
We had three kickers. Smitty said last week that we wouldn't go to camp with that many. Had a feeling that one was going to go pretty soon.
rugger8
That's too bad. I was hoping he'd be a solution. Guess not.

DaMeatTroughsEgo
Hauschka and Bryant both have strong legs and Bryant is proven. I'm not too worried
CHOCTHEFALCONFAN™
When I think of Hauschka I think about the Baltimore and Vikings game! but maybe he will improve - But I like the way Bryant came in kicking!
Falcons 'til Death
It looks like it's going to be a battle between Hausehka and Bryant for place kicker this year. Hausehka has the stronger leg but Bryant has got the most experience which makes me think he has the inside track but who knows. Anything can happen in camp. Upstate NY Falcon
Just saw this on the homepage, Sort of disappointed had high hopes for the kid, must have had a lot of accuracy problems. Bryant is proven especially 2 years ago with the passing of his son, I have high hopes for him this year.
Guest Gritz
Bryant is going to be our guy......Virtually anyone would be an improvement over Jason Shankem.

FA91
I thought the kid might stick. He had a decent percentage at school and pretty strong leg. I guess Bryant is the guy this year. I just hope his accuracy improves a little bit.
kschreck
He's a strong legged kicker with accuracy issues. It's easier to add distance than it is to become more accurate. Some guys just aren't consistent enough. Ultimately it's much more important to have a guy who's accurate with decent range than it is to have one who's not very accurate but has a strong leg. Unless, of course, you're going to keep a kickoff specialist which we already have.I hope it's Bryant.

HouseofEuphoria
Aww man, now they'll never win the Superbowl. Off-Season Rule #1: Do NOT get too attached to the newbies. We have had a good team the last two years. It's gonna be really hard for anyone to come in here and beat out the seasoned incumbents. Capitalist
Am I the only freak that thinks we should pay/trade to get a Top 5 kicker instead of other team's rejects?

Unless, of course, you're going to keep a kickoff specialist which we already have.I hope it's Bryant. I kinda agree with that, but he kicked with 83% accuracy last year. I think with hard work he could of brought that up to at least 90%. Bryant is good from inside the 40 but was 1 for 4 over the 40 last year. He kicked 70% with us last year. For comparison Elam kicked 63%. Hauschka kicked 66% for the Ravens while he was with them, he went 10 of 15. I personally want a kicker that can make at least a 48 yd field goal, 50 would be better and kick at a 90% level. I don't see the guys left on the team doing that. I mean Braynt only kicked 84% his last year with the Bucs. Basically, now we have two kickers that were cut from their last teams because they weren't very good. Basically, now we have two kickers that were cut from their last teams because they weren't very good. Some of the workout footage that I saw of him wasn't very compelling. On the other hand, that wasn't a game situation, with normal motion, pressure etc. Some guys do better in games. It's tough to know exactly what you're getting with a kicker because things like holder, wind, and the field play such a large part. I started kicking my sophomore year in high school. With the JV holder I would hit most of my kicks. With the varsity holder I essentially couldn't hit anything. Come to think of it nobody could. The next year, certainly I had more experience, plus kicking camp, the former JV holder became the varsity holder and I made almost every kick. I would hope that by the time you get to the NFL, you can get a guy who holds it in a way that works, but who knows. You certainly aren't asking to much in wanting a guy who can make them from 50 at a decent percentage. That ought to be a given at this level, then again look at Mort.

I thought that Lindholm would be the answer to our kicking problem and now i feel we're stuck with seconds, a older kicker in decline for the last few years and a young guy that hits two out of three. FalconFanSince1970
You want to call people clueless because they wanted a young guy to make it because we very few options.Apparently Smitty and TD think we have better options. They aren't hellbent on turning the team into a bunch of NCAA, YouTube, Combine freak Madden boys. They are like me and Blank. They need rest. RISE UP!!!But yet you say B. Williams was the savior of the secondary last year. I personally think that's pretty clueless but don't feel the need to tell you so every time you say it.Did I say Williams was the secondary savior? Hail naw. I did say he played the most solid corner play. And please don't start posting up Grimes' picks before you list all the times he got benched or got his as handed to him.
