Boise State to the Mountain West Conference!

Recommended Posts

Boise State will be announced as the next member of the Mountain West Conference on Friday, a source with direct knowledge of the pending move told ESPN's Joe Schad.

MWC commissioner Craig Thompson hinted at an expansion announcement on Thursday amid news of Colorado's move from the Big 12 to the Pac-10.

Boise State would be leaving the Western Athletic Conference.

"We remain in communication with key parties and are continuing to implement our internal strategies," Thompson said in a statement. "These deliberations are ongoing and will be remain confidential until the appropriate time,"

Boise State would of been a better fit in the Pac-10. MWC is not a pushover conference, but there's better competition in the Pac-10

there are more competitive teams in the pac-10, but the MWC has shown head to head they can beat those comparable teams in the pac-10.. boise state wouldn't have been a good fit due to the other sports imo.. both conferences however have decent competition.

since when did other sports matter? :)

ask cal and stanford.. some schools care about those other sports. cal blocked baylor from joining because they were a baptist school.. you have some schools who have a culture and there are culture clashes which won't allow them to join a conference.. see byu with the pac10.. would never happen.
