Unlock HQ Video HQ video delivered by Akamai A team official confirmed that the 37-year-old wide receiver will announce his retirement at a news conference later Thursday. The decision comes after the Panthers didn't re-sign him in the offseason.Muhammad was Carolina's second-round pick in 1996, and he made the Pro Bowl three years later. The receiver later served as a complement to Steve Smith on the Panthers' Super Bowl team in the 2003 season.Muhammad signed with the Chicago Bears as a free agent in 2005 and spent three years with the team before re-signing with the Panthers before the 2008 season.
