DaMeatTroughsEgo
I'm a bit surprised by this move since I thought he would give DJ a run for his money on the practice squad.

As he should be (fighting for his Falcon life). There's only room for one Eric W on this team anyway.
Rock Howard
Sometimes an early cut is a favor to a player as it gives their agent more time to find another team that might have a more pressing need for their talents.
LADBABY
The real surprise was when they picked him up.Just looking?
Bulldog1950
Apparently DJ's been the first one there & last one to leave throughout OTA's.Not suprising at all. DJ's work ethic is undeniable and well respected by his teammates. JPW better not get complacent or let DJ out work him because DJ does have it in him to play great. He didn't just throw for 25 touchdowns with only 5 INT's by accident his sr year.

sporkdevil
Eh, he had no real position here I guess. I thought he could be emergency backup QB, 4th string RB, 6th string WR. All in all, it is a lot of positions that will never see the field.
nobkowski
Ward must of slowed down during ota's or something.
phattywankenobi
I saw this yesterday and honestly unless someone follows Richmond or SW Dekalb HS who is Eric Ward. I don't recall anything about him that would indicate pushing DJ. Obviously it's boom or bust time for DJ. I also think this is his last year to be practice squad eligible. There's a reason DJ didn't make the roster last year. He's a nice guy, he's friendly with the fans but he's not an NFL QB, he's not Schaub 2.0. He's a great practice QB though. delaigle
I may be wrong but DJ doesn't have any practice squad eligibility left.I'm not so sure, I was surprised that he was eligible last year. But a player can spend up to 2 years on the PS (if he does not accrue a certain amount of playing time).2006 active but did not play2007 was on IR all season2008 active but did not play2009 on PS, off PS, on PS Edited June 11, 2010 by delaigle
