Well since everyone always wants to say well look at Roddy Now. He so much better because Vick is gone. Well i found this read on Roddy White and its actually very good. He admitted that He was just happy to be in the NFL when he played with Vick . He also said Joe horn mentored him and Bobby Petrino reinstalled his passion to become a great player.

He also admitted outside of the falcons facility he never studied film and Partied all the time when Vick was here. I really dont know how to feel about this.

doesnt change the fact that Vick couldnt hit the broad side of a barn and had no touch on his passes

Thats B.S Vick was actually more accurate than some of you gave him credit for. Our recievers used to drop alot of passes lets not forget that now.

Old news - this was posted here the past 2 years in fact. Vick is also old news. He's an eagle now in case you hadn't heard.

He did what he could when he was here. We went to the playoffs and he made the place exciting. What he didn't do was take his role seriously enough to separate himself from legal problems and so he went to jail and is no longer our QB.

I think White would tell you that he learned a lot from Vick, a lot from Joe Horn and a lot from our coaches. I think he has developed a loyalty for Ryan now and believes in him as the leader of this team.

You can hear it in his comments and on his twitter if you follow him.

I think he realizes that Vick was an exciting, talented player who messed up and now has a second chance somewhere else. I think he realizes he is a Falcon and is happy to be on the team.

I think he's let it go and moved on to our new regime. So have most of the fans. Regardless of the respect you have for Vick's talent or the things he brought to Atlanta - he's not here anymore and it's okay to let it go.

Roddy White admits he studied no film, and partied to much when Michael Vick was here Makes you wonder, is Matt Ryan really that much better than Vick

Well that would make Ryan better than Vick since Ryan can get his players to play to the top of their game for him and not partying

Yeah, Ryan sucks. He is the only QB to lead this team to back-to-back winning seasons. Man, I wish we had a different QB here.

Using your theory, makes you wonder how much better of a coach Petrino was than Smith is. Great logic their Einstein.

One of those wins this season goes to Redman, not Ryan dude and secondly Ryan has yet to win a playoff game. Vick won a few and got us one game shy of a superbowl.

I didnt realize Vick played an entire season by himself and got his own *** to the NFCCG. Funny, i always thought Football was a team sport, man have i been watching it wrong.

Pretty sure Roddy says Joe Horn is the one that helped him get his act together.

The notion that some other man that can get you to play at the top of your game is stupid.

It's 100% personal. Either you want to put in the work or you don't.

Technically - all 9 wins go to Ryan as the starter and 5 losses go to Ryan. Redman is credited with 2 losses in the games he started.

That being said - Vick ain't here. He didn't win our back to back seasons. He didn't win us a Lombardi. He was here 6 years and never hoisted the Lombardi. If you want to compare - come back after 4 more years and let's see where we are. He may have the better record - he may not.

Right now, Ryan is the winningest QB by percentage we have ever had - so I'm personally looking forward - not back. Live in the past if you want - we have football games to win and championships to work towards. Right now - Ryan is the only QB who can bring us the Lombardi. If Vick gets one - it will be for those guys in green - not the Falcons. I'm a Falcons fan - so I'm rooting for Ryan.

And Petrino. That aside - if you don't believe that a player, coach, or personal friend for that matter can make a difference in another persons life - that's kind of sad, and totally not true.

Almost to the person - if you talk to winners - the guys who are "great" in their field - they will tell you of someone who helped guide and direct them to be where they are today. They will tell you of role models - guys who they strive to be like - such as Jerry Rice or one of the other greats in the same position. They tell you of someone who inspired them almost 100% of the time when you ask about how they got where they are.

If you have players on a team who do not care - do not apply themselves and do not show energy and work ethic - it rubs off - happens all the time in the NFL. It takes leadership and support for them to be the best they can be.

How can you in one breath say Joe Horn helped him get his act together and in the next - it's 100% personal and that another man can't get them to the top of their game. Total contradiction in the same post.

People that don't understand leadership will not understand or will try to discredit this post. But, I'm going to make it anyway.

Roddy behaving that way is a result of bad leadership. Vick was the leader of the team, and that's what he was doing. Strong leadership would not have let that happen. If Vick was pushing Roddy to breakdown film and develop chemistry, that wouldn't have happened.

For instance, consider the Colts. Manning's WR's have gone on record saying that if they ever make the wrong read, Manning won't throw them another pass the rest of the game.

No WR is going to stay late studying film if their QB isn't working just as hard.

Roddy isn't working hard and studying film because he had some sort of epiphany (I read the articles, I know what coach did). Roddy is working hard because his teammates and coaches are holding him accountable.

Actually, your the first person I've seen mention that guy for a very long time. We were doing so well, and you ruined it.

His avatar was the giveaway.

I rarely hear any genuine Falcon fan even mention the guy anymore....Too excited about what might be going on right now.

Vick had all the finesse of a Pit Bull when doing ANYTHING but scrambling.

EVERY major play for yardage he ever made was................a broken play.

Great blueprint for a championship team.

The starter of this thread reminds me of those World War II Japanese soldiers you used to read about who they would find in caves in the 1960's and even into the 70's....

Still hanging on long after the event is over.

Yeah.

Discussing Vick is like discussing Polio.

BOTH diseases are obsolete.

Yet. That's the key word. Yet. It's coming. Personally, I think it's coming this season. Regardless, there's excitement for this team. It's palpable on the boards ... everyone can almost taste that Lombardi, feel that ring on the finger.

It's such an awesome time to be a fan of this team. And you're gonna miss it. You'll be bitter when the team DOES win a Superbowl because your prized player isn't the one who accomplished it.

That's f***ing depressing, dude. Seriously. I'm off to the optimistic, present-day threads. It's a good time there. You should give it a try sometime.
