Also as far as helping build it, its not like Arthur couldn't get Home Depot to help sponsor it. Home Depot field. ;) Do not know why Mckay is crying about it. Lets be cheap when you can't get Super Bowls, and other sporting events. Can't have Caviar tastes with a Budweiser budget. ;) Their going to be bugging the City of Atlanta for money anyway for it. ;)

Give me a retractable.

Saw many games in AFCS and the Dome.

The Dome is perfect for football but it would be nice to take advantage of good weather days. A retractable would really work for me.

I really don't want an open air stadium because the city will never get a Super Bowl and the fans will have 2-4 nasty weather games every year.

Some of the games in AFCS were awful. The worst for me was 1989 DET@ATL when 7,000 faithful watched a rook named Barry Sanders run over us as we closed out a 3-13 season in 30 degree weather with rain comin in sideways. It was awful. Anybody else out there sit through that one?

That sounds miserable

I vote for a retractable roof, the best of both worlds :)

Open air, crowds need a concrete pill to hard the f up if they gonna complain of a little rain or chill. plus they could always bring jackets

And a flask.

I really miss the elements, personally. One of my fondest memories is sitting in a cold drizzle at AFCS watching Mike Rozier and Prime Time completely dismantle the hated Cowboys in the slop. Dallas' color scheme that day was silver, blue and... dark brown. It was beautiful.

Anyone who can't bear to sit outside for three hours on a typical 50 degree December day in Atlanta is probably too soft to be attending NFL football games - indoors or outdoors.

I'm for a open air or a dome because the retractable roof would cause ticket prices to skyrocket and we have enough trouble trying to sellout the games now, but the team is on it's way up and that wont a problem much longer. But as the owner Kraft said after he started winning the SB's everybody was after more money and it forced him to go up on ticket prices as well as in all the concession prices. We had the same thing happen when the Braves won the World Series with the players also.

Much as I hated the results of the game - I like the way the Cardinals stadium is. Not only do they have a retractable roof - but the ground is grass and they "roll" it out on wheels to let the sun on it.

It's a cool stadium - and take this as the truth - it is built for amplifying sound!

I was also at the Dallas stadium - but that thing is off the hook crazy. Too much if you ask me - but it is first class.

I love the idea of outdoor games, but when it's drizzly and cold or they want to amplify the sound (cough-playoffs-cough) then they can seal it up - I vote both!

I agree totally, Cough playoffs, the dome is handy for that, especailly if it was designed for sound like Arizonas is. Open air is self defeating on that. I would love the outdoor games, 30 degrees and all, but if its 35 degrees and a steady sprinkle or rain, that can be worse then snow and that happens a lot in Atlanta.(chill to the bone, you bout wish it would snow) I care about having grass though and I forgot about the way they can roll out the grass, we would finally be rid of the players turf, or and all the injuries caused by it more or less. Also being able to get the final four and concerts, yada yada, having both would pay for itself in the end. ;)

Also anybody ever seen Indys new dome, its shaped like a barn the way on the end they open to air. If they would do that, that would be cool too. Either way I just hope their inventive whatever they decide, not a cookie cutter stadium. ;)

Girl I was at the Arizona game and it was crazy loud.. As far as my vote, open air.

This is Qwest Field. It has more than ample protection from sun and rain. You have to consider that our new stadium will have even better architecture, design and technology that will further enhance fan experience while providing comfort.

and if it's too cold, put an f'ing coat on. Jeez. Quit complaining and support your team.

I'm on board with the Seattle style stadium. I can live with snow and cold, I just hate heat, sunburn, and rain. When I lived in Nashville, I went to some miserable Titans games. (Well, they are all miserable when you are a Falcons fan watching 2 teams you could care less about.) Direct sunlight and concrete in the south do not make for an enjoyable day. No matter how much SPF I wore, I still ended up blistered. I went to Giants stadium for a concert in June during a rainstorm and that wasn't too great either. I find it hard to believe that in 2010 an open air stadium can't be built to cater to elemental football and fan comfort.

Retractable roof. Why pay all that money, and all the money for tickets to a game just to be miserable. I think, while nostalgia for the old days of sitting outdoors watching football brings back fond memories, the game is too much of an event and spectacle now to afford fans anything but the best options. Retractable gives us the best of all options.

I was at that game too. 1990 or 91 I think it was. I'd be happy with any stadium that keeps the Falcons in Atlanta.

Open air. If the pop warner kids can play outside, then so can the falcons. If Green Bay plays outside, then so can the falcons.

comparing our franchise to green bay is a bad comparison..Green bay has real solid fans that stick with them thru thick and thin and make noise at every home game..The falcons fan base is no where near as loyal as the green bay fans are. We would probably hear the traffic on 75/85 during the game if we have a outdoor stadium.
