Gritzblitz 2.0
Has a coach ever made so much for accomplishing absolutely nothing?I guess being Monty's son pays pretty well. The guy is the Paris Hilton of football coaches.
matt marshall
I mean he does have 12 wins...how could you not pay him 4 million?
tjb
I have never seen someone fall forward so much in my life. Without ever proving a thing, in just a few years he goes from being an assistant at USC; to head coach in the NFL; to head coach at Tennessee; to head coach at USC. And have you seen his wife? He's making more than a lot of coaches who have actually won more than 12 games. 12 games. In their career. Who knows what his salary will be if he won, oh I don't know, like 10 games in 1 year? Unbelievable
Andrew
I have never seen someone fall forward so much in my life. Exactly what I was thinking. The fall has to be coming and when it does its going to devastate him. I don't think he knows what adversity is.

But how much longer until the call of the early bird special is too much for Pappa Kiffin to ignore?

Could not agree more. He has done nothing but happen to be born the son of Monte Kiffin and when Monte retires LK is in for a rude awakening. eddiesauto
Could not agree more. He has done nothing but happen to be born the son of Monte Kiffin and when Monte retires LK is in for a rude awakening.Monte's Defense looked rotten against Auburn, Ole Miss and Virginia Tech. It did keep the Vols in the game against Alabama and Florida though. Fulmer and Chavis could have done just as good as the Kiffins did last year, although Crompton would have been lousy from start to finish. It's crazy that he's making that much per season. I would still take MK over the others any day as DC because he is still one the best around IMO although Chavis is pretty good as well. The Auburn game I can understand maybe because coming from the pros he didnt see a lot of spread formations and had been away from College football since like the 70's I think. Regardless LK wouldnt have gotten to where he is right now without being MK's son IMO because he still hasn't proven anything on a football field to warrant his success. I was not impressed at all with Monte last year.

I think Chavis is a good DC as well and wasnt knocking him in the least but I would personally take MK over him if I had a choice with my only concern being his age at this point. Yeah I was kind of surprised by those stats to tell you truth but one year is not really enough to judge I guess. It will be interesting to see how he does with all the talent at USC. Volunteer Falcon
Monte is a good dc against traditional offenses, but the spread was very hard for him to stop. Auburn ran the same toss out of gun countless times and our players were never put in a position to stop it. That's why i'm excited about Wilcox, because he knows how to stop the fastest growing offensive trend in college football.
