...how would you handle it?

Go kick the bullies parents azz, in front of the bully.

Honestly, I'm not sure how I would handle that, it's a very bad situation. Thus far, my family has been lucky and not had to deal with bullying. One of my sons is 13, and the other is 11 so we still have several years to get through yet.

I would want to know all of the details before I acted. My son comes in with stories all the time and nothing is ever his fault until you really get specific. If there is really a problem that is beyond his control, I would not hesitate to get involved. But I don't want to be one of those parents that tries to straighten out every other kid in the neighborhood, teacher, coach, principal, etc. while thinking my kid is a saint.

Well I have a 16 yr old that was bullied. I told him getting his arse kicked was nothing to be ashamed of just make sure when it is over the bully knows he did not jump on a scared man. Bullies usually only wants easy targets so do not be one. Fight the fight and fight a good fight and be proud of yourself no matter what. And the main thing back him and make sure he knows he has your support.

First thing, don't let his mom handle it.

Second thing talk to him about it and see how he wants to handle it. Then give him feedback and other options and work through it together.

Also give him some tips that most fights end after the first punch.

A few years back when my daughter was about 7 years old she was being hit by a few boys in her class. She had a couple bruises. I went to the principles office and said "My daughter keeps getting hit by boys. You are in charge here. I hold you responsible, and I don't believe in calling the cops. Don't make me come back here." My daughter never complained about being hit by boys again.

i remember that happened to me every day in pre K.. yep Pre K.

I told my dad and he showed my how to fight back. SO the next day I was just talking to the guy (not being bullied yet) and BAM. I hit him as hard as a 4 or 5 year old could, right in his stomach. what a great feeling that was. he didnt bother me any more..oh the joy of making him cry...

never underestimate a good sucker punch...

I went even more girlish. My first and only incident was in 6th grade. Three notorious bullies cornered me in the middle of gym class. I meant to go all Double-Dragon on the ring leader with a surprise knee to his stomach, but my aim was a little low. The kid dropped like a rock and the other two were just stunned. Never heard from any of the three again. Heck, I don't hardly recall ever even SEEING them again. Maybe they all transferred? Do I feel a little ashamed? Maybe a tad, but it sure as **** ended that confrontation real quick.

One of my friend's 15 yr old son was being bullied and running home from school every day. My friend after getting tired of this had his son go to school and while in class took his history book in both hands hit that bully square in the face. Needless to say they both got sent to the office and their parents were called. That's all my friend had wanted was for the other kid's parents to showed up. He had his attorney with him and it was brought out how their son was bullying his kid and told them and the school flat out the next time it happen the parents and school would be equally be held accountable in a civil suit and the meeting was recorded so there would be no denials. His son hasn't been messed with since.

Wow... All legit... Good move..

I wonder if Daddy will come to his rescue when the same thing happens in college.

If they were gettting cyber bullied, I would have a field day, get their email address and go to the nastiest gay, animal beastility sites that you have ever seen and sign them up for everything. :P  :P

Make them scared to death of their computer. :P

Then call the parents after a couple of days and say their kid is looking at porn, Gurantee the parents would have a heart attack of the stuff that would be getting sent to their kids by that time. ;)
