The Saints have Beavers

Recommended Posts

I know... I KNOW.. TATF, but I couldn't resist

Saints signed WR Larry Beavers.

Beavers (5'10/186) was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Panthers last year after running a 4.37 forty at Delaware. While former Blue Hen does possess intriguing kick-return skills, he won't make a crowded roster in New Orleans.

Beavers signs with Saints

Larry Beavers will be in an NFL training camp for the second consecutive season, as the former Wesley wide receiver and return specialist has signed with the New Orleans Saints.

Beavers, who is the NCAA's all-divisions all-time leader in return touchdowns with 13, 10 on kickoff returns, spent last summer with the Carolina Panthers and caught two passes for 31 yards in the preseason as well as returning a kickoff for 24 yards.

Beavers also started at receiver for the Wolverines as a senior, leading the team with 598 yards and tying for the team lead with 30 receptions and six touchdowns. He ended his career with 2,366 receiving yards, second all-time at Wesley and was seventh all-time with 126 career receptions.

He has been assigned the No. 18 jersey.

Among the Division III rookie free agents that got tryouts after the draft, no other signings have been reported.
