Unknøwn
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Trey Hillman became the first manager to get fired this season when the Kansas City Royals let him go Thursday after a final win.Former Milwaukee Brewers manager Ned Yost, who had joined the Royals' front office in January, immediately took over the team. The Royals announced the move after beating the Cleveland Indians 6-4, a win that left Kansas City at 12-23 and last in the AL Central. The 47-year-old Hillman was in his third season with the Royals and went 152-207. Kansas City was 75-87 in 2008 but then dropped into a last-place tie in 2009 at 65-97.Yost managed the Brewers from 2003-08, when he was fired late in the season with the team in the playoff race. The Royals hired him last winter as a special adviser for baseball operations.Hillman spent a 12 years working in the New York Yankees' system and won a couple manager of the year awards in the minors. He then went to Japan for five years and was considered a major league manager-in-waiting.Hillman built a great reputation for working with younger players, was attentive to details and had good communication skills. But with the Royals, many of the young prospects such as Alex Gordon haven't panned out so far. Expectations were raised this season, coming off a year in which Zack Greinke won the AL Cy Young Award. The Royals couldn't score for Greinke, who was winless in seven starts before beating the Indians at home in Hillman's last game. K26dp
Yep it was all his fault. Ned Yost, huh? Didn't he get fired by the Brewers because Milwaukee wasn't scoring enough runs? Of course, I guess he gets brownie points since he scratches the Royals' ex-Brave fetish. Edited May 13, 2010 by K26dp

R.C. Collins
When Yost took over as manager for the Brewers in 2003 his first record was 68-94.When the Brewers fired Yost(in the middle of playoff contention no less)his team record was at 83-67. Unknøwn
Nobody is turning that mess around i've been a little surprised the way Moore runs that team and some of the decisions hes made its not been a good tenure
Gritzblitz 2.0
Talent wins in baseball. They can hire the re-animated corpse of Billy Martin and it won't make a difference.Until they find a way to keep some talent on that roster, they will continue to live in last place.
