So, what's next for Jamarcus?

I am just curious to see what Jamarcus Russell's next move should be now that he has been released. I know he didn't put in much effort and is one of the worst QB's I have ever seen. Some people may think his NFL career is over, but I doubt it. Many NFL coaches have egos. When some of them see a failed first round pick with great measurables, they believe they can change him. I am not saying he will be successful or not. All I'm saying is that someone will give him a shot. Remember, Ryan Leaf was the biggest bust ever and he got three more chances before he was done.

I don't think he needs to go somewhere that needs a starting QB. Just looking at this past season, it's a known fact that he isn't fit to be on any field right now. I think that he needs to go to a team that has an established starter, but more importantly very strong QB coaches (they have their work cut out for them). Anyway, these are the teams that I think will be the best fits.

4) Vikings- I think Brad Childress is a good offensive coach, and I think he can work with Russell well. Between him and their OC they have a lot of experience with QB's. However, they may not want to upset Lord Favre and bring in another QB. Plus Sage Rosenfels would have to be released ASAP if he's brought in.

3) Bills- Chan Gailey is no stranger to getting a lot out of questionable QB. He got the most anyone could from Kordell Stewart in PIT, and did the same with Reggie Ball at GT. Gailey can be pretty creative on offense, and he may be able to work magic with Jamarcus. Still, there are QB's ahead of Russell, but they are far from established. The team obviously disagrees because they didn't draft a QB, but I still feel that an upgrade is needed. They're working with another top round QB to resurrect his career in Brian Brohm and they may just prefer to focus on him.

2)Packers- Mike McCarthey is good at building QB's, did a pretty good job with Aaron Rodgers. Also, Matt Flynn is the #2 here. I am sure they like him, but he doesn't have any in game experience. Russell's experience as a starter may be attractive to them.

1) Redskins- I honestly feel this will be the best place for Russell. Mike Shannahan LOVES QB's with a ton of measurables. Though he doesn't have much of anything, else, he has that with his big arm and size. Plus, Mike Shannahan loves taking chances on questionable guys. Remember this is the same man that drafted Maurice Clarett.Since Campbell isn't here anymore I think it wouldn't hurt to bring him in as a backup and have him learn from McNabb in his twilight years.

Any thoughts?

Redskins? Serious?... They just got Mcnabb and believe they will draft his replacement

before investing in a QB, who, quite frankly doesn't give a chit

Right now they have Richard Bartel, Colt Brennan, and Rex Grossman behind McNabb. I didn't mean to imply they should sign Jamarcus as McNabb's replacement. I meant they should sign him as a project type player who can benefit being behind McNabb and working with Shannahan.

I look for Russell to fall into the Ryan Leaf pool of forgetfulness. He'll be one more answer to the top 10 draft busts of all time. Maybe he can bump Andre Bruce to #11, so he can get off the show.

I really doubt it. Like I said earlier, Ryan Leaf got three chances before he called it quits. Someone is going to give this guy a second chance. Now as for who it will be and when, I am not sure, but I just can't see 32 NFL head coaches not wanting to bring him in as a backup.

I think he will never be a starter again...but in my opinion the team that suits him for the better is the Ravens..He will back up a big QB with a big arm, that is a 60/40 run to pass team with a good D, plus you're not gonna quit in Ray Lewis' locker room and I have a feeling Harbaugh won't put up with his tihs

This may not be a bad idea. However, I think they're pretty happy with John Beck and Troy Smith.
