Joe Vitt AND Sean Payton.. Joe Vitt at least has a reason; He needs pain medication.. I really can't wait to see the day when Sean Payton is being charged for theft and SELLING of vicodin.

lol know what this reminds me of kinda? Sorry for being a nerd, but if any of you have played "Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright" on nintendo DS, Its basically a game where you have to prove your client to be not guilty, but the prosecuters really stack things against you, like forged evidence, lying witnesses, basically its near impossible for the defense to be proved Not guilty..

Anyways, with the whole "whose honesty and integrity are above reaproach".. I REALLY thought that kind of things were only made for video games.. If that really happens in real life, wow. Gotta love the USA, money buys you freedom.

The big problem for the Saints is that I am fairly certain this guy has audio and possibly even video footage of most or all of these conversations. He recognized early on that something bad was going on and he went out of his way to get people to admit what they were doing. And the trascripts appear to be recorded straight from an audio tape.

There isn't any place in the lawsuit that suggest that Sean Payton stole any Vicodin, the media reports are highlighting him just because he is the big name.

Heard Payton was also caught in the Saints supply of Viagra and Extenze as well.

If he's a former FBI Agent I don't imagine he would go into this blindly. My question is why? Whats in it for this guy. Was he harrased before he quit and is seeking reparations? (I haven't read the report yet.)

Sean Payton is not going to be in any trouble, but this lawsuit is a terrible scandal for the Saints. Here is a link to the actual lawsuit.

Saints Lawsuit

Thanks Peyton.

This is serious, this isn't going to be some hometown civil court issue. There are multiple felonies here, including the attempted destruction of evidence of a know felony.

NBC Sports sugar coated the basis of the suit. It's more serious than they depicted, this Santini guy has more legs to stand on than the Saints can count.

Does this former employee have any proof? Until he does it's just hearsay

I would imagine he has plenty of proof, being that he is a retired senior supervisor for the FBI.

Plus, all of this stuff was reported to the league a while ago and to the Department of Justice, so it's not liking he is bringing the story out of thin air. Most of the details won't even be in dispute.

I think it's two things.

Being a former law enforcement official, I think he was pissed that the Saints were covering up felonies by thier coaches with felonies by thier GM.

I think he's also pissed that he had to quit his job because he didn't want to be part of a conspiracy.

The transcript says that Santini has a video evidence, and seems like it was written from a tape recordings.

This guy had to resign from his job to keep from participating in illegal activities. He's seeking his just due

According to PFT, Payton was one of the two involved in Vicodin theft..

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/05/01/sean-payton-implicated-in-alleged-vicodin-theft-at-saints-facility/

So.. What are the implications if this turns out to be true? Will he get suspended/possible jail time??

As jerkish as it is, I would love it if Payton went to jail (if he was really guilty).. cause hes the key to the Saints success right now; Him and Brees.. but without him, Brees will revert to his SD days. We'd have the NFC south LOCKED and probably for the next 5 years if Payton wasnt in NO..

haha. this is interesting.

Even if it's not true, it could become very distracting for the Saints.

After reading the legal transcripts, I have no doubt it's true!

The conversations are obviously transposed from recordings, so I'd say the Saints are in a helluva mess.

I doubt this will amount to much. A little hersay and intrigue but at the end of the day its a deal thats just not all that BIG. Stealing Vicadan is wrong sure and I don't imagine too many docters would be happy with the way its being perscribed but unless thier sneaking it into the players water or something I don't see enough thats going to outrage the public enough for Goodell to move for any kind of suspension. (This is a civil suit right?) At most Peyton and the Saints get slapped with a fine and lose a draft pick.

No offense, but you're ********.

If I break into a drug locker and steal vicoden, it's a felony. Period.

No offense but you can go f&*k yourself :)

I'm reading the document as we speak. Forgive me for not having all the facts yet. (Thanks by the way Peyton) Before it sounded like another PFT rumor that wouldn't pan out but it now sounds like a serious charge. Too me it initially sounded as if somebody in the organization was gettin Narcotics illgeally perscribed on the side (ala Rush L)

Good day sir.

I wanted to stay away from this thread, but I can't. I sure hope you people are joking. I usually pick up on the humor, but this one is a little bit different.

For the record, no one should wish this sort of thing on anyone.....no matter the circumstances. Rivalries are one thing, but come on.

God willing, this is all a bunch of crap.

I wasn't joking at all. If they prove that Payton committed a FEDERAL OFFENSE, then I hope he is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. If I stole a bunch of pain killers from a pharmacy, I would be prosecuted. He should be no different.

Yeah, but he didn't though.

ATLFALCON89 - " don't see enough thats going to outrage the public enough for Goodell to move for any kind of suspension."

Goodell protects the NFL shield, and the transcript clearly states that they were covering up felonies in an NFL Audit. They were betraying the league. Goodell is p'offed, I guarantee it.

Right but nobody would care if they were just popping them on side. (Nobody cared when Farve did it in 96) I didn't know they were activlly stealing and covering them up.

Goodell cares about what the sponsers care about and if the sponsers think the public is pissed than they get pissed which makes the NFL leach money.

ESPN and NBC articles both said = Saints spokesman Greg Bensel said the allegations are false and the club will aggressively defend itself in court.

I take that as the Saints are going to try and tie this matter up in court, but I don't believe that's going to happen, I could see this becoming a federal matter.

All I'm saying is there's no such thing as 'no big deal' when you're being accused of a felony.

It's not as much about them popping the pills, as much as how far they went to cover up evidence of misconduct, and forge legal documents in the NFL Audit
