I think there's physical talent there to replace those two, but the experience and leadership may be harder to replace.

What do you all think?

I am more worried about Sharper, then Fujita. I think with the talent on the bench that can step up and play LB'er, should not have any problems filling in for Fujita, but Sharper we dont have anyone to replace him.

The Saints are made up of a number of leaders. Vilma, Smith, Ellis, Shanle. Now we signed Alex Brown and he'll come in and provide some leadership.

Yea! This team has been a leadership magnet since Peyton. We even convert people to leaders. Besides, we have one of the best leader in Bress. So leadership is the least of our worries.

it was a magical season for the saints and everything went right, and although they lost a couple of starters,we will see how good they really are as the season goes on...they have a great deal of talent, but can they put it all together again will be the main question...and if they do(by making the playoffs and getting past the first round)then sean should finally get the credit that some on here thinks he deserves and that will(gulp)include me

Most great seasons happen because things fall the right way. Teams may suffer from a few injuries, but not too many. If they do, players step up. They have good schedules. Etc etc. When was the last time a team contened for the Super Bowl when their schedule sucked and they had a load of injuries? In order to have a Super Bowl type season, you have to have things fall in place.

so going to the NFCC game twice and winning the SB in 4 years isnt enough to say he deserves credit.

You want him to do it again this year? OK

tell me how many coaches have taken a 3-13 team, gut it, and make the playoffs 2 of 4 years along with two appearances in the NFCCG, one NFCCG, and one Super Bowl win?

He has been to 2 NFCCG's and has a SB victory. That is success. He doesn't have to do any more to be considered a success. You should be more concered with Smith. Not Peyton. He has to make it to a NFCCG and win a superbowl the next 2 seasons to match what Peyton has done in 4 seasons. Which is highly unlikely.

Explain to me why that is unlikely. Give me a FOOTBALL reason why it's unlikely.

What's smith done that's any different then peyton. 08 was a clean slate and he and Td have turned the falcons around as peyton has with the saints.

No what the saints should be worring about is becoming the 09 steelers. Not looking for attention on the atlanta falcons message board.

I'll say why I don't think the falcons can win it all yet. Your o is not good enough to overcome a weaker d.

Ur head coach is only as good as his coordinators. I do t think ur o cord is good at all.

I'm sure the team is not worried about this message board.

Attention? We get attention on the field. It's damm hard to go to a NFCCG or a SB. If Smith can do it then so be it. I'm just saying it is unlikely that he can match what Peyton has done in 4 years. He hasn't even won a play off game. Yet he's supposed to be better than Peyton. But I'm not worried at all. Not with our team. Who is not the 09 Steelers. So you shouldn't be worried about us either. That's the problem with some of you falcon fans. Your too busy worried about us than your team.

No one thought the saints would win it all at the beginning of last season...especially saints fans! So keep thinking we're not good enough!

Despite the numerous times that we have said we are a descent defense away? Maybe to the average fan. But I took off SB suday back in august because I had a very good feeling from what I saw in the 09 OTA's and preseason.

Technically Aqg, he has a better winning percentage than Payton his first two seasons but he did not win a playoff game which we agree on. So I say we compare in another two. Smitty does not have a losing season but payton had two consecutive losing seasons.

Smitty's first two seasons:

20-12 winning pct 62.5%

Payton's first two seasons:

17-15 winning pct 53.1%

Paytons first two years. Division title and an appearance in nfcc

smith. No playoff wins.

Just sayin.

A playoff win and an NFCCG appearence.

What would you take? Unbiased that is. Not to mention that Payton is 3-1 against Smith. He has 5 post season wins and a championchip. Smith has a lot to do in these coming two seasons to = Peyton. Like I said before, it's highly unlikely.

Forgot about that. Peyton has two NFC south title's and one in his first two seasons. Smith has to at least win it the next two seasons to equal Peyton. And did I mention that it's highly unlikley.
