g-dawg
I used the Dirty Word's projection of comp. picks with Falcons getting a 3rd and a 5th and used the overall number of comp picks by round in his thread as well according to ranking of the players that were lost(by contract dollar amount). Dirty Word sites this internet comp. pick guru(adamjt) who says we will get a 3rd(Foxworth) and a 5th(Boley). Here is my calculations:#1-019#3-083#3-099 (comp for Foxworth)#4-120#5-133 (swap with Lions-Chris Houston Trade)#5-165 (comp for Boley)#6-168 (procured from Lions-Chris Houston Trade)#6-186we lost #2-51(KC/Gonzo trade) and lost 7th rounder(Tye Hill trade)Use these when preparing your mocks until further changes/trades...Link to Dirty Word's thread explaining comp. pick projections:Dirty Word Edited March 9, 2010 by g-dawg

BroadwayBlueBleeder
Mike Peterson cancels that out.Oh alright, i always though comp picks were just for whenever you lost a player to FA. Does Pete cancel out Brooking because they are both LB? Or is it because Pete was the first FA brought in?

delaigle
Romberg and Peterson cancel out Grady and Brooking. There is a possibility that Romberg does not cancel out Grady Jackson,, salaries play a big role but also playing time Jackson got 449 snaps and Romberg got only 37, it may be below the qualifying minimum. The Talon
We will not get a second rounder unless we trade back out of the first or DT makes some super trade.I added up all or picks, 3 thu 6, and it adds up to 309. That is just the 27 th pick in the 2nd round. Lot of people want to trade up into the 2nd round, don't see it happening.

That is just the 27 th pick in the 2nd round. Lot of people want to trade up into the 2nd round, don't see it happening.that is why you have to trade back from #19 first.....for example:Falcons trade Falcons trade: #1-019(875pts) Lions trade: #2-034(560pts-Detroit) and get 3rd(#3-66)(260pts) plus 5th(#6-168)(24pts) = 844ptsDetroit selects: Bruce Campbell, OT-Maryland (to cover Matt Stafford's blindside). at #1-02, Lions took Ndakong Suh, DT-Nebraska.Now Falcons have room to operate....FALCONS DRAFT:#2-034 Everson Griffen, DE-USCFalcons Trade:#3-66(260pts), #3-84(170pts), #6-168(24pts) = 454ptsthis could get Falcons all the way up to the pick #2-45(450 pts) to easily select Darryl Washington there....#2-045 Darryl Wasington, WLB-TCU#3-100* Jared Veldheer, OT-Hillsdale#4-120 Jimmy Graham, TE-Miami#5-133 Jeff Owens, DT-Georgia (from Detroit-C. Houston trade)#5-165* Matt Tennant, C-Boston College#6-186 <traded to Pittsburgh for Limas Sweed>*projected comp. pick now, that is viable and we could grab Washinton at a spot he would likely be on the board and get better value for Everson Griffen further down the board.
