Alex Marvez, of FOXSports.com, reports the Atlanta Falcons have traded CB Chris Houston and a 2010 fifth-round draft choice to the Detroit Lions for a 2010 fifth-round draft choice and sixth-round draft choice.

I don't think we can fret over whether or not it's a sixth or fourth rounder. We HAD to dump Houston. It had to be done. The Lions knew that. They may be a poorly run organization, but they aren't that dumb. Detroit had the power in this negotiation process, and I was afraid we wouldn't get what we wanted.

That's not at all true. He wasn't making much more than the vet minimum this year, and as a backup db for us, he'd be one of the best in the league. We could have easily kept him as insurance and depth, and paid his small salary. The person we had to dump is probably Tye Hill, who's just a bum. If we dealt Hill for this, I'd be thrilled.

He didn't suck horribly. He was inconsistent and developing. Something ALL receivers do.

Roddy showed a lot of flashes. Houston showed no improvement on the basic fundamental of turning your damned head around.

He showed plenty of potential and flashes of what he could be. It's the idiots who think college receivers jump into the NFL and match up to the same caliber of vets.
