Peppers to Skins

Well it shows that Snyder is still making the decisions. Sooner or later, these big signings have to put them in salary cap He11.

Yeah I thought that bringing in Shanny and Allen was supposed to usher in a new era of respectability to the Redskins, but this move makes it abundantly clear where the real power in the organization still lies.

Not with ridiculous signing bonuses.

Ex. $100 million contract. $30 million signing bonus. $70 million over 7 years, still backloaded. Like $4 million year one, $6 year two, etc.

Once the cap is back, Pepp is bringing in reasonably small amounts.

According to beat writer Brad Briggs, there's a "real optimism brewing at Halas Hall," as the Bears believe they will sign Julius Peppers.

It's also worth noting that Lance Zierlein, the source behind the Peppers-to-Redskins report, cautions the Bears "won't lay down" in the Peppers sweepstakes. Both teams will be after Peppers at midnight.
