I think realistically we have a shot at 3 CB's that will add value to our team.

- Bodden

- Dunta Robinson

- Carlos Rodgers

I dont like any of the options for the Oline, but i wouldnt mind bringing in Benjamin Watson since Mularkey loves these two TE sets. I would love to have Tony Gonzalez and Benjamin Watson on the line at the same time, with Watson taking over for TG when he leaves.

Who is the youngest of those CB's?

could a team actually afford to use 3 franchise tags even in an uncapped year? Seems like a hefty amount of $$

Average of the top 5 salaries at your position. For some teams they come out cheaper franchising a player year-to-year vs trying to lock him up on an extended contract - just ask Walter Jones OT (Seattle) - franchised 3 years in a row) or Nnamdi Asomugha CB (Oakland) - Karlos Dansby LB (Arizona) - franchised 2 years in a row each.

I do not want to see the NFL go to uncapped or large market teams will probably begin to dominate. That is the problem I see with MLB right now.

It might happen next year but uncapped years hurt the players actually - longer to become a UFA (6 years vs 4) - teams can hold more franchise tags (3) - and it can also hurt teams that do make the play-offs.

The rule will restrict the final eight teams in the playoffs from signing free agents. The final four teams shall not be permitted to negotiate and sign any unrestricted free agent to a player contract except for players who acquired their status by being cut or were on the final four team when their contract expired. Playoff teams five thru eight get a break to sign one player with a salary of $4,925,000 or more and any number of players with a first-year salary of no more than $3,275,000 and an annual increase of no more than 30 percent in the following years.

So the chance of a team building a powerhouse year after year would be restricted as well.

So if 2010 is uncapped - strong bet that 2011 won't be.

At the end of the day its going to be how much money does Arthur Blank want to spend on his football team. Will he cough up the cash to make Atlanta instantly better? I'm thinking/hoping so. We wont make the playoffs, and it may have been planned. We can potentially sign a starter in all of our needs positions. I also wouldnt be surprised to see us get a few big names.
